Versa not tracking sleep stages

I have a fit bit versa.  when i first got it tracked my sleep fine.   however over the last 2 weeks it has only tracked my basic data and doesn't provide insight as to why.   if i reset my fit bit out will track my sleep for that night then return to tracking basic data.   i wear it far enough down my wrist that it should be able to catch my heart rate and i know i sleep for more then the need 4 hours.   any ideas on how to fix this

A warm welcome to the Community @mlrussell1. Thanks for the details mentioned and the details you've checked before.

There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages. I know you've checked some before but please double check them below:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

So interesting turn off events.   the fit bit app this morning showed me my sleep details, slept almost 8 hours,  but on the versa it only shows i slept a little over 4 as if it only recorded basic details.   im not too worried as long as i can view my details, more curious as to why.

Thanks for getting back @mlrussell1. Sorry for the delayed reply.

It's pretty weird that your Versa isn't showing the same sleep information as the one showing in your online Dashboard. I would like you to restart your watch and continue checking if you get the same information in both.
