I went snorkeling for about an hour, and when I got out of the water my watch was dead. The battery was at 85% when I started. I took it home, dried it off, and charged it. When I placed it on the charger it lit up with the Fitbit symbol. Left it overnight but it still won't turn on. And suggestions?

Hi, unfortunately your Versa suffered from water damage, despite the fact that you dried it off. The Versa is absolutely not waterproof, but only water resistant to a certain depth for a short while. you can try an restart your Versa 4-6 times in a row by pressing the left and right lower buttons together untill you see the Fitbit logo and release the buttons. If this does not solve your problem, contact Customer Support about this well known issue. I have read a lot of these messages that after a swim of whatever in the water the Versa stopped working. Have a search in this Community regarding Swimming and the Versa and you will get conformation about my reply.

@Stephbowe I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. I would like to thank you for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
At this moment, in case you haven't done it yet, please restart your Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. If the screen still doesn't show you anything after trying to restart it, please let us know so we can check this further.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we'll be waiting to hear from you.

Hello,
I recently accidentally swam in the Sea with my Fitbit Versa.
The watch worked for a few days. At first the buttons stopped working, however then I soaked it in clean water for three hours and the buttons began to work.
After roughly 4 days the watch then ran out of battery and after attempting to charge it it wouldn't switch back on.
I've tried restarting it a few times and using different chargers, however nothing appears on the screen.
Could anyone provide any advice?
thank you

i had same issue. I was able to swim in ocean for 30 min or so wearing Versa in the past, less than a metre deep. Recently, I stayed in water for an hour. After that, the screen lost sensitivity and upon tapping the screen multiple times the screen started to flicker and died on doing factory reset as instructed by their support team. The warranty team didn’t agree for replacement and have instead offered 35% discount coupon on next purchase. So, I might reward them with more purchase for not making the device as advertised.
