Versa not turning on - water damage

I bought my Versa when it first came out because it was suppose to be water proof, it has not given me any problems, even so far as to get my wife the Versa 2, until 3 days ago I had it on when I had a bath with it on and when I got out and look at the time the face was blank. I put it in the charger thinking the battery was dead. I checked it a few hours latter still dead, I tried my wife's charger, still nothing, put it in rice, which can dry out some electronic components, for 2 day, tried to charge it again, still nothing. So much for being water proof. Any ideas.

At first when I noticed that there was no display the heart rate sensor was
flashing, so I put it in the charger for a while, after that there is no
flashing from the heart rate sensors and the device is
completely unresponsive. I have checked the charging device and also tried
charging it on my wifes Versa 2 charger, no response. I have tried to
restart a couple of times with no response.

Hi @DMC2020, welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors are flashing or is your device completely unresponsive? Are you able to see water droplets or condensation inside the device that can confirm water damage? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Such article includes a restart process which can be really helpful for this situation

Looking forward to your reply.

Before I posted anything on this forum I tried all of the suggestions that were posted. I did not realize how much I relied on the watch until I no longer had it. I have tried various ways to see if I can dry it out. and charged it for a couple of days to see if it will come back, it is definingly dead. I am doing to purchase another watch soon but although I liked the Fitbit a lot and I have tried some other smart watches I found the Fitbit worked best for me, I am reluctant to buy another one though since this is the second Fitbit that I have had that has died because of water problems, That said the first was advertised as water resistant and it did not like being in a swimming pool, but the second was suppose to be water proof and it proved not to be.

I hope that I am posting my responses properly since I have never been in a forum before and am not familiar on how to post.

I'm having the same problem where I believe it is taken on water when I apply a little bit of pressure to the back plate I can see water coming out the edges.

I'm going to try soaking in rice... Any other advice? I thought it was supposed to be waterproof I have swim in it many times before
