Versa not water resistant as advertised

I purchased my versa back in 2018 and wore it swimming. It was only 2 months old and somehow water seeped through and damaged my versa. I read the guidelines and did everything in accordance to it, including drying it before putting it back on.

As it was under warranty I got a replacement. I never went swimming with it again, until Friday when I was on holiday and had forgotten to take my fitbit off before jumping into the pool. I always use a protective cover and my fitbit is in mint condition. It now doesn't work and has condensation at the back. It is no longer under warranty however customer support gave me the standard 30% off a new device.

It is rather misleading that a product is advertised as water resistant when it clearly isn't. I have been a fan of fitbit since 2014 and am now I am very disappointed. I will never wear my next fitbit swimming again! I really am considering other smart watches as my Vesra did not need to be replaced had I not worn it swimming. It was not fit for purpose.
