Versa not working after factory reset

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa started to not sync, then was not keeping the correct time. I tried resetting it using the two button way. No help. After 3 days of trying, I did a factory reset. Now versa will not turn back on. I also tried to hold down all the buttons for over 3 minutes several times. No luck.

They offered me the same thing 25% off...pffft nope. This is my fourth different model of fitbit to go completely down after one year, always sems to be just out warranty, my versa isn't even two years old and now its a paper weight. Fitbit hasn't stood behind any of these watches that have gone dumb on me. I get them as gifts and they don't even last two years. Bye Bye fitbit on to apple watch I guess.

Has anyone got this fixed?  It seems like if you do a factory reset and you can't turn it back on, then it's completely broken.

Has anyone had any luck?

I have had the same factory reset problems as all the above but when performing the app install it (galaxy s8+) connects to the watch as the watch displays a 4 digit number; right after it try's to connect via wifi and fails; it then defaults to Bluetooth and that fails

(cont) for me it seems that the glitch in the reset is occurring here, it's not linking to finish the app install? I am surprised with a lot of fitbit versa user having reset problems that fitbit doesn't fix the problem. This is an area (lack of tech support) that has been weak with fitbit. Maybe the Google purchase might address this? Good luck to all.

My Fitbit versa is an early one. I haven’t had it a whole year yet. I was trying to set steps back to zero.  I looked up how to do factory setting, I did that and now it just stays black. The steps that tell me what to do so does Hold in three buttons I only have one on my watch. Please help me

So I brought this watch earlier this year and had some issues with updating the device today and issues also with the clock face, so I performed a factory reset on the device and now it will not turn on. Tried the three button reset and no sign of life. Any advice on getting it restarted would be grately appreciated

Hello!  I recently had an upgrade and gave my versa light to my husband.  He did a factory reset to clear my data.  Now it is not working, not connecting and not updating.  We would love technical support thank you!

I had the same issue. It seems to be an issue with lots of people. Maybe a news station would like to do an investigation on this. I also got 25% off but why would I want to spend more money on a product that malfunctions. They haven’t even responded to my last email.

  • Mine was 100% charged and when I did the factory reset the battery drained and didn’t turn back on.

Hello, yes I did a factory reset and now mine won't turn on either ...this is the 2nd watch . I also just went out and bought a Samsung active2.. this watch (versa) was so annoying to have to deal with. Waste of time and money. I boughtb1 for my daughter and brand new out the box it did not work properly  and she had to return it

I had the same issue.. I approached Fitbit thru their twitter handle sending a direct message with my registered mail id.. in 2 days I rec'd a reply with with few steps to get the device back on track. Those tips did not work..

Finally they checked my warranty details.. And proposed to send a new device. This happened in Feb'20..

As of Jun'20 I have got a brand new replacement device to my home address.

So if anyone has this issue, pls write (DM) to Fitbit in their Twitter handle.. Good luck.

P.S.: Process took some time, due to lockdown. Otherwise, I would have got the replacement device in 6 weeks..

I was out of warranty. I received a 25% off coupon to purchase a new device. I’m not understanding how they are not taking this issue as something their possible update caused. No point in buying a new device if down the road could lead to the same problem.

This is so annoying that FitBit won’t take responsibility for this. This is our hard earned money and they pretty much don’t want to back up their product. There are ton more people with the same issues but they are treating it like it’s an issue that we caused. Might start a twitter posting to see if it starts trending.

I am having the same issue. I have been trying to get the red light to go back to green. After numerous shutdowns and restarts, I decided to do a factory reset. Now my fitbit versa will not come back on. No logo appearing just black screen and I know it is fully charged....any other suggestions.
