Got a Versa last May, wasn't super stoked on it at first, a lot of features I don't need or want. But after owning it for a couple months, it grew on me. End of the summer at the lake, it freaks out and dies. Not to worry, FitBit CS to the rescue! After jumping through a few hoops, a new tracker enroute. In the meantime, I fire up my ol Charge HR, who was retired due to the strap bubbling and coming off. Still works great!
New one arrives and takes 6 HOURS to update and be usable. Retire the Charge HR again, and again business as usual with the Versa. Until Mid February. Same problem as the first time. Basically craps out, without warning. This time however I had most of the features disabled, "raise to wake" auto sync, etc, getting ~8 days on a charge. Was really loving the device, but same problem? What gives? CS is again helpful, and a new pebble on its way. Fired up my old charge HR, and it hasn't missed a beat...
TL:DR I will be out of warranty before this new one craps out again, which is literally like clockwork at this point... Should I just look for a Charge HR online? Plenty of them still available brand new...
Curious about others opinions. I am leaning towards the latter, as it seems from most places I look for feedback the newer devices are kinda crap. To much going on.

I have not had any problems with mine.
But you are not saying what the problems are so people can help.
How are you charging it? That's the first thing that comes to my mind

Thanks for your reply, however I clearly stated my problem... the device crapping out. Twice. In about the same time frame, despite having changed settings and the usage overall.
I am am looking for others honest opinions or experiences here, as elsewhere on the interwebz there is very little quality feedback.
ETA: Regarding charging, have been using computer USB or UL wall charger, as directed by CS during first focus round of troubleshooting.

I'd go with the Charge HR or any other device besides the versa. The Versa is my 4 fitbit device, and by far the worst one I've owned. Even though I have a compatible device, I just can't get it to say synced regularly with my phone. For a device that costs $200, I think it shouldn't be going in and out so much. Unfortunately, the versa is making look elsewhere for an activity tracker.
