Versa notifications not working with Galaxy s10

I have read a bunch of responses about the Versa not being compatible yet with the S10....seems weird to me but hey what do I know. Anyways I can get the Versa to sync but my notifications will only come to the watch for about an hour or so after restarting and re-syncing then they stop again. I always check the settings after a restart/re-sync to be sure notifications are on and unchanged. Anyone else with the issue found a fix?

Thanks for the detailed possible work around.  I tried removing my Today Items --- tried four items all the way to zero Today items.  Unfortunately, this did not work for me.  Once I returned by default message app to the Samsung Message app my text notifications to my Versa 2 stopped.  I tried rebooting the versa 2 and my phone in between, but that didn't help.  I tried using the Google Messages app, but I also didn't receive my notifications with that app as my default.  I returned the default message app back to the Verizon Message+ app and the text messages are coming through to my Versa 2 again.  I really hope Fitbit is working on a resolution as I really prefer to use the Samsung message app. So odd how different things are working for different people.  I have a Samsung S10 up to date and a Versa 2 up to date.

If you are still not able to get text notifications on your versa, download the Textra app from the play store and then in your versa settings, change the default messages to Textra. That is the only thing that has worked for me. It's a software problem between the versa and the text messages.

Hi all,After many weeks of sheer frustration I have jumped ship and ditched the Versa 2 and opted for the Samsung Galaxy Active 2 watch. Wow, should have done it sooner. As I'm using a Galaxy phone EVERYTHING  is just instant,  ALL notifications come through and it's a pleasure to wear. Battery life is not as good as the Fitbit but I can still get 4 days at a push and 3 with ease. I was concerned about the app not being as good but in all honesty it is even better in some regards and I'm not forced into being pushed to pay for premium extras either. I do hope Fitbit get things sorted for all the Versa and Charge users out there but I wouldn't be  holding my breath as I think now they are owned by Google the current  devices will be put out to grass in the hope users will buy the next Google Fit(bit) watchesSent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

I had the same problem! I called them followed all the directions on resetting the watch and downloading the app again. I just called today to see if they figured out the problem and she told me the watch was never compatible with the android 10+

  • So I have a Galaxy S10e and I have a fitbit inspire that was working perfectly fine a couple months ago, receiving all app notifications, phone calls and my text messages and then all of the sudden my text messages stopped coming through, so I upgraded to the fitbit versa2 tonight, thinking my fitbit was outdated and of course, my text messages are not coming through on this either. It is very frustrating! HELP?! Is this going to be fixed or should I return it?

Personally I would take it back for a refund and purchase a Samsung Active. It works seamlessly with the Galaxy phones and there's a free app that can migrate most (all if you pay a bit) of your historical Fitbit data into the Samsung Health app.I had an internal debate late last year about moving from Fitbit to  something else and in the end opted to get the Versa 2, turned out to be an expensive mistake. However, now I'm using a Samsung watch I don't foresee a move back to Fitbit. Ultimately the choice is yours. So weigh up the pros and cons carefully. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Omg! After messing with this for over 2 hours trying to figure out how to get my text messages this finally WORKED!! 

I changed my message default to Message plus thru Verizon. And FINALLY started getting all my text! Thank you so much for sharing this info about Message plus.

My fitbit had an update. I was excited hoping it would fix the problem! It did not 😞

Ugh this issue is frustrating and seems very unprofessional its been weeks ongoing with this issue. I tried every troubleshoot I could find and its still not giving me notifications, in fact its not even doing other apps now whereas before it was only my messages that weren't showing. I like the fitbit system, but I may just have to go back to a galaxy watch.

Just a general question. Has anyone heard ANYTHING from Fitbit Towers regarding fixing the notification fault on the Versa yet?I gave up and voted with my feet to a different brand but still use the Fitbit app and scales which work without any issues. Just hoping someone has some positive news to share. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Thanks guys, i have DL google messenger and it works also. im getting older now lol and dont get many text but i just hate to have something that worked to

just stopped and the people who's reasonable of keep it running isnt made a post on the status of the fix. If somethings broke where im from and it can be fixed

thats what you do is fix it.

is others with s10 having this issue or just a hand full of us.

Me too. My phone updated my Fitbit app Monday night. I woke up Tuesday with text notifications!!!!

Working here as well. Thanks Fitbit! Now, if I could just get Samsung Messages to show icon notifications like it is supposed to and like Google Messages does.

I received the Fitbit App update yesterday too, but my Samsung messages still do not come thru to Fitbit Versa2. I switched the default message app back to Verizon Messages+ and that still works. Come on Fitbit...I want to use Samsung Messages! Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Mine has been working for almost 24 hours now so I would keep trying I have a Samsung Galaxy s10 plus  but my carrier is sprint I last night after the update to the app yesterday I just decided to go back in and change it back to the Samsung default message app and to my amazing it worked finally hope it last 🤞🏾🤞🏾

I have S10 on Verizon...I did receive the Fitbit app update yesterday too and tried restarting my phone and Fitbit, but Sansung Messages as default = no notifications! 😡Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
