Versa notifications not working with Samsung J7

I purchased a Versa 3 days ago only to find out after installing it on my Samsung J7 that Fitbit does not support this phone.  I do not have access to any notifications at all.  I am wondering what else I may be missing because of this?  Trying to decide whether to upgrade my phone or return the Versa.  Honestly after reading about all the problems people are having I am leaning towards returning, however welcome your thoughts and advice.

Hold the left button down on your Versa until the Screen Wake and Notifications show up on the watch. Check to make sure they are on.

@Wess16 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! The compatible devices list shows the devices that have been tested and have been found compatible with Fitbit devices but the list isn't exclusive. There are many devices that can sync with Fitbit trackers and watches that aren't listed, then only thing is that I can't guarantee all of them will work or work without issues. Besides checking if the notifications are on on your Versa like @blu-steel suggested you can also refresh the link between the phone and the Versa. Start by going to the bluetooth settings list on your phone and remove all devices listed there. After this restart your phone and restart your Versa by doing the following:

1.- Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
2.- Let go of the buttons.
3.- If your Fitbit watch doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.

Make sure the Fitbit app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and that you don't have your phone in silent mode. Enable notifications again and try them.

Let me know how it goes!

I am having the exact same problems over here. The Samsung J7 is not a phone you can't support these days.

My wife bought this phone and the versa brand new. Can't be that you haven't covered the notifications correctly. Please put your dev team on this matter and confirm that the Samsung J7 owners can wait on a fix to have the Versa show notifications.

Fitbit as app has all possible rights, all notifications are on, all Bluetooth devices where deleted, everything reinstalled from scratch, but notifications aren't  working.

@Maverick7907 Welcome! It's great to see you around. Sorry to hear that you aren't getting notifications from your Samsung J7 phone and thank you for trying some of my suggestions. You didn't mentioned if you restarted both devices. Also check on your phone's privacy settings that it allows to show call and text notifications on the lock screen. As I said even if your phone isn't listed as compatible this doesn't mean that it won't work.

Keep me posted!

Hi

I have just purchased a Fitbit Versa without realising it wasnt compatible with my Samsung J7 Prime. I have had to link the watch with my Husbands Samsung J6.

Will the Samsung J7 Prime be compatible at any time in the future?
