Versa pauses during activities not tracking sleep

Come on Fitbit, help us out with something here.  I've lost a 1/2 mile each with my last 2 runs (1 being a race on Saturday - very frustrating) because the watch opted to "pause" shortly after I started the exercise.  No vibration or notice of any kind.  Wasn't until I looked at my watch to check my pace that I saw it paused. I'm also having the same sleep tracking issue that was mentioned in another post.  While the moderators suggestions and efforts are appreciated, they don't address the underlying issue a lot of folks are having.  I shouldn't have to restart my watch every time I want to go for a run, and I shouldn't have to uncomfortably tighten my watch band to track sleep when the watch tracks heart rate ok with the way it's set now.  I don't tell my users to reboot their computer every time they want to use Outlook, or adjust their seat height to a certain setting before typing...?  I am now stuck with a smartwatch that is only good at being an expensive watch.  I wanted to use the pay feature, but I don't want to try trusting my credit card info with it given the issues.  I'm going back to my trusty, albeit old, Polar watch with integrated GPS for my running.

@Kephart Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community! Sorry to hear that your Versa is pausing during your activities and not recording your sleep correctly. Have you noticed if your Versa is being pressed while doing you activities? Does this happens always or once in a while? How many runs have you recorded with your Versa (if you remember or have an idea)? As you said you shouldn't be constantly restarting your Versa but try checking if something is making contact with it. Something you could try is using a sport wristband over it and see if the exercise gets paused again. The same thing could be done while sleeping. The Versa should feel comfortable not too tight that it could bother you at night. Additionally the Versa will start recording your sleep after it detects an hour of inactivity so if you have a light sleep then this may make detecting your sleep more difficult. Try wearing it on your non dominant hand and select that same hand as dominant on the Versa settings to make it less sensitive to movement.

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks for the reply Alvaro.  My issues did not start happening until AFTER the firmware update to 32.32.10.15.  The watch actually ran great prior to that - if there's a way to roll back to the previous firmware revision, I'd take it.  I restarted the watch yesterday morning and opted to wear it once more on last nights run - of course, it worked fine with both the run and sleep tracking.  As for number of runs - not sure of the number - I try for every other day as often as life lets me, but I've been using the watch since receiving it around the end of April. To the best of my knowledge, I haven't brushed against it or bumped it on a run.  I was in forward motion with the runs that paused, so the auto-pause shouldn't have detected that I was stopped?  I already wear it on my non-dominant arm - I can look at changing the setting to say it's my dominant hand and see how it goes.  I'll keep you posted.  Thanks!
