Versa periodically stops showing heart rate

I have a versa, it's paired to the pixel 2xl and I keep it updated. Sometimes the actual watch will just stop showing my heart rate, it'll show "--" for a few seconds to a minute or two.  The watch hasn't moved on my wrist at all as it can happens when I'm just sitting in one spot. I do have it on placed correctly. The green light on the back is still flashing.Has  anyone else experienced this issue? Why does this happen?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Dkourt

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that sometimes your watch will show dashes instead of your heart rate. Thank you for providing the additional details. Occasionally your device may have difficulty getting a strong signal. In this case you can try to relax your wrist and stay still for up to 10 seconds and the normal tracking should resume shortly. For additional troubleshooting steps, see Why don't I see my heart rate on my Fitbit device?

Upon checking with our Support team, I was told that you have already contacted them and that they were able to help you. Thank you for your time and efforts.

Hi Liliya, I was helped by customer service and they were great and I thought the issue was resolved, however yesterday it came back. I have tried the troubleshooting tips but I've still had the issue. I was more wondering if others had the same issue and if anyone had an explanation. Your suggestion that the device may have difficult getting a strong signal makes sense.

Thank you
