Versa powers on with a black screen

My Versa powers on and continues to track and sync with my cell phone. The screen has a thin color edge around 3 sides but the rest is backlit black. Will a hard reset fix this or is it time to move on?

@BostonMom75, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since the screen is black and has a thin color around the 3 sides.

 

Please try a regular restart. To do so, follow the steps listed in this help article. After this, try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face and see if the issue gets fixed.

I reset the screen image to the standard image the watch came with. I tried
the reset procedure but the screen never changes. Because there is no
usable image I can't navigate to do a shutdown and restart.
