Versa problems with changing song when exercising

So I got my Fitbit versa yesterday for my birthday. Set it all up and was good to go. As soon as I changed the song that came on my exercise was cancelled. I had no idea until I got home. I tested it at home again and every time I change the song it either pauses or ends my workout. Please help!! So frustrating

@AshleyDDean Welcome to the Fitbit Community.

 

Happy birthday! Congrats on your new Fitbit Versa. Your workouts shouldn't get paused when you change songs on your Tracker. If you haven't done it already, please perform a restart by following these steps. If this doesn't work, I would recommend turning off the Bluetooth of your phone, rebooting your phone and turning the Bluetooth back on. Additionally, you can remove the Music app and install it once again by following these instructions.
