Versa reading heart rate when not worn

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I had my Versa watch laying on the bathroom bench for about 9 hours. In those hours, apparently, my heart rate was about 75 bpm the whole time... how did this happen? Did i do something, or is there something wrong with my Versa? How to make sure it doesnt read a heart rate that is not there?

Welcome to the Forums, @Ellen.1.

Thank you for your participation in the Forums and sharing that your Fitbit Versa tracked heart rate when you didn't wear it. I understand your concern and appreciate your efforts to resolve this. I recommend doing the following:

  • Switch heart rate setting to off and sync (Open the Settings app, and find Heart Rate)
  • Switch heart rate setting to On and sync.
  • Restart your watch by following the steps from this help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

You can find more information about tracking heart rate here

I'll be around if you need further help!

I also have this issue and I have noticed it since day 1, that the heartrate monitor will read a heartbeat even when lying on a table by itself. Because it was fresh out of the box and already having this issue I don't think it those solutions would work, it seems to be either a hardware or software issue with the versa.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @kellyusagi. I am sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that you're experiencing the same issue. I understand your concern and would like to confirm if the watch hasn't been worn for at least a minute before checking the heart rate? Do you still experience this issue after following the steps provided in this post

I also observed this issue. To solve this problem when not wearing the Fitbit Versa I have the face of the watch facing down and the back of the watch facing up.

Tried it to no avail, but it's ok, connection issues bother me more than the heartrate monitor. Thx though for sharing

Thank you for your reply, @kellyusagi. I am sorry for the delayed response.

I understand that you're more concerned about the connection issues. I will be glad to investigate if you provide the additional details. If you're experiencing any difficulty with syncing, I recommend trying the steps from this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
