Versa records steps when not in use

I am seeing steps accumulate when my Versa is not "in use".  For example, I took it off while I showered this morning...it was 100 steps when I took it off/put it down but was >2000 when I put it back on after sitting stationary.  This happens regularly where my step count jumps for no reason. Has anyone else seen this?  After having a Charge 2 which was really accurate, I am getting very frustrated with the lack of accuracy with my Versa, both in terms of count and distance.

Mine is doing this too...it just started yesterday and is doing it again today.

Just so you know - if you contact support, they will send you a new one if you are within warranty. They sent me one...and guess what! It does the exact same thing. I am beyond pissed. And they do not offer to exchange with a charge 2 or 3. So I am just stuck with a tracker that only tells time. The connected GPS function never worked properly for me. Yay.
