Versa repeating mail notifications throughout the day

I am using a Versa with an iPhone 6S. I receive all of my mail, text and call notifications, but if a mail notification is still marked as unread on the phone then it is doomed to repeat throughout the day. It goes like this:

Mail 1 arrives.

I read the preview and swipe right to dismiss it on my Versa.

Mail 2 arrives.

Versa vibrates once for mail 1, and once again for mail 2.

I now have to swipe to dismiss mail 2 and mail 1 (again).

By the end of the day, if i'm just reading the blurbs and dismissing on the Versa, it can end up vibrating 15-20 times in a row to tell me stuff I already dismissed. Sometimes I will scroll to the top and Clear All the 20 messages, and then 10 minutes later it buzzes 20 times and they all show up again in my notifications list on the Versa.

I see lots of issues about people not receiving their notifications, but is anyone receiving too many notifications like me?

It's great to see you around @JER88.

I am sorry to hear about what you are experiencing with your Versa and would like to know if you have tried to restart it? If you haven't, I recommend restarting your watch by doing the following:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.

Let me know the outcome. Smiley Happy

Hi Alejandra,

I have reset the device a handful of times in the past few weeks, as well as the phone.  The issue still persists on a daily basis.

In the past few days i have received single mail notifications pretty well in the beginning of the day, but in the afternoon after many mails have accrued i am destined to be subjected to a "dump" of emails out of the blue.  Sometimes the Versa can vibrate up to 30-40 times in a row as it throws emails into my notification pull-down.   A few times it has frozen while doing this, hence causing me to restart.

Another part of the issue is that when the notification pull-down menu has more than 5-10 emails in it, hitting the top right button to scroll to the top and then hitting "clear all" only works intermittently.  It goes back to home screen as if they were cleared, but when i check again they are all still there.  I have tried giving it 5-10 minutes before checking again to see if they cleared, and sometimes they're gone and sometimes they're all still there.

This is really discouraging because i actually like the Versa better than my old apple watch 3, but the apple watch handled email notifications without hindrance.

I had this issue with texts and emails on my blaze. I have only had the versa for a little over 24 hours now. Nothing yet, but it's been a dull day for me too. LOL  Tomorrow will probably show if this is happening to me as well. Let you know. Oh, I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, btw.

July 22: So, After an unusually dull couple of days, I've finally got an answer. All incoming texts & emails buzz the Versa twice, no matter how many I have, read or unread.

Does it buzz (notification) twice because your phone is set up to buzz twice?

Nope. I have different phone vibrations for different callers. The Versa always buzzes twice, regardless of phone settings.

Howdy! Just wondering if this issue has been resolved. About 2 or 3 times a day I get 20+ notifications of some of the unread messages on my watch. Also, in some cases, I’m not able to clear all the notifications. It seems like, at times, 4 or 5 notifications always linger even after I’ve tried clearing all of them.

Thank you.

I fixed it... By ditching the versa and buying an Apple watch! So
disappointed by the support here. It's a joke. I suggest anyone with this
problem sell your versa on swappa and move on to a tracker company with
better product development process.

I have been struggling with this annoying problem ever since i got the device last Christmas.

Its funny because my wife got me the same gift, and BOTH our versa 2 watches have the same problem.  They were bought from very different stores so they are clearly not from the same batch, and we configure our emails very differently, and we have very different iphones.  As an engineer that does lots of RCA, sorry fitbit, this is a bug in your OS/notification module.

Hey man,

I'm sorry to hear that. I actually ditched Fitbit all together after
experiencing this issue, it was just too much for me. Forgot all about
this until I got an email today about this forum reply. I am an engineer
too and this problem is just laughably inexcusable.

I actually got an Amazfit GTS from Amazon and I love it. I wish you the
best and if you stay with Fitbit, I hope they fix it for you!
