Versa restarting several times on its own

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

For about a week now I've noticed that my Fitbit will intermittently restart all on it's own. I will get a short vibration on my wrist only to look down and see the Fitbit logo - telling me the device is starting up. There does not seem to be a schedule to this. It will restart at different times of the day, when I'm connected to different networks, or some days not at all. I don't think I'm losing any data, but figured I'd ask here what might be going on.

I'm currently on what I believe is the latest firmware as of this posting - 32.70.7.14

@amurray89, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it restarts on its own all of a sudden.

Please restart your watch manually as described in this help article. After this, try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

32.70.7.14 is the issue. I've gone back to earlier firmware and mine is working normally again.

Thank you JuanJo. I will give the restart a try and report back if I have any further issues. I am already using a Fitbit clock face.

@JuanJoFitbit  - I have attempted restarting my Versa, as well as doing a full Factory Reset. I am still having the intermittent restart issue. I do not see a rhyme or reason as to why or when this is happening. Sometimes I'm just sitting at my desk at work, sometimes I'm walking, sometimes it's in the middle of the night. Any other suggestions on troubleshooting?

Unfortunately, in my case the random restarts were the beginning of the end. As my versa now sits on the counter, the screen will no longer display anything but some very faint random lines, the light on the back is red, but it’s somehow receiving notifications and randomly vibrating. 🤷‍:female_sign: I contacted support and they are sending me a replacement. Hope you all have better luck!

@Cuddlebug910 Thanks for sharing! I hope this is not the case for my Versa, but I fear you may be right. I'm not sure what else explains these things but I do know that I'm still within my 1-year purchase date, so perhaps I just need to contact support directly for a replacement as well 😕

This started for me yesterday. Random restarting. Even today during my workout it randomly restarted and went back to the home screen.
I am updated on both FitBit Versa Lite and my iPhone and attempted the 3x factory rest (twice). I’ve synced, closed the app, restarted FB, opened the app. Doesn’t help.
I should have moved to Garmin like I’d planned. I’ve been a loyal Fitbit user for 8 years though ...
