Versa resting heart rate not accurate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my Fitbit Versa for about 3 months, and my resting heart rate fluctuates drastically on a frequent basis - between 60 and 80 bpm, which is quite a large amount! Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi @Muireann123 Welcome to the forum. RHR can fluctuate for many reason, food sensitivity, alcohol consumption, excessive heat. Can you map any changes in your lifestyle to the increases you are seeing?

A warm welcome to the Community @Muireann123 and @MarciM thanks for stopping by.

If you are seeing that your heart rate information isn't being accurate, I recommend taking a look at this post, where you will be able to see some things that might be affecting this reading and some tips to improve it.

Let me know how it goes. Man Happy

I have a Versa for 5 days and I believe it is very different to my Charge HR 2 for heart rate. Seems to read on the high side constantly and I also see small spikes when I am stationary. I did a comparison with my Charge HR 2 this morning - wore both. This is the outcome. Can anyone explain 30 bpm different on the same wrist at the same time? Thanks

Hi @MarciM, thank you for your input! I have had a few lifestyle changes recently, the main being injury forcing me to be sedentary - but the fluctuations occur on a weekly basis and appear random which is strange, whereas I should logically be seeing a slow increase in heart rate.

@jolville I have actually read this thread! Unfortunately there appears to be no solution? Many people appear to have the same problem though, so I was wondering if FitBit is sorting a patch if they are aware of the issue!

@AlejandraFitbit, I have read a lot of threads and everyone seems to have come to the same conclusion that the Charge 2 is far more accurate. If I were you and it is within your 45 returns period I would send it back, as without accurate basic functions it is just an expensive toy.

Was the solution to to this post to use exponentially weighted moving averages to compute resting heart rate? My heart rate over time chart hasn't hit the value that is supposedly my resting heart rate for the day.

Lol so true... I had the same issue with blaze vs versa now. It’s funny they have the exact same canned response for every thread on this, with no real solution despite blatant proof from many users regarding chronic inaccuracy. I’m getting to the point where I may just turn off HR and let it track steps... the frustration isn’t seeming worth it at this point. Very disappointing

I sat this morning after waking up, completely still with tracker in proper position. HR sub 60 for 4 mins straight, I refresh, and RHR jumps up to 63. I think the developers need to look into the algorithm. This doesn’t seem like user error, it’s a bug in the way the calculation is done . Why can’t you guys provide a real response to this issue?
