Weather app has asked me to sync since last evening. Still not working after several sync-ings and a restart. Suggestions or still some bugs?

@Secrest302 and the app itself is up to date if you check in the fitbit mobile app?

Rose36619,

I will give the steps for the iPhone. Android should be similiar.

  • Open Fitbit app on your phone
  • Upper right hand corner select the Account icon (looks like small credit card)
  • Select Versa
  • Select Apps
  • Scroll down to Weather app
  • Select Weather App
  • Select Permissions
  • Toggle ALL on

I think the update toggle the permissions off.

We've just switched from Alta HR to a new Versa.  After re-installing the app numerous times, restarting both phone & watch, enabling all permissions, weather app still does not work.  Versa says "No Location Information" & go to app to set up, etc. which we have attempted. Phone GPS is enabled. The app shows only "current location", no city name. Cannot access any list-nothing shows up.  If I try to add a city manually, am only able to enter 1st character successfully, anything additional causes screen to freeze & eventually resets to setup screen. AAARRRRRRGGGGGHHH! Firmware version is 32.331.30.

This appears to be a software bug. Anyone have a fix for this?

Same problem!
Also have enabled 'Automatic location' on fitbit app (Settings>Advanced Settings>Automatic location) and enabled All-day sync & 'Always connected' & 'Keep-alive Widget' and still nothing. App just crashes the minute you try to manually add a location. Please help!

Did this problem just start (was the Fitbit working previously), or is this a new setup?  Ours is new, and this app has never worked. We're unable to get notifications to work, either, and we've tried two different Versas. Afraid this thing will be going back if we can't find a solution.

Hi, what you could try to do is:

1. Deinstall the Fitbit app from your phone.

2. Restart your phone and enable BT and WiFi

3. Reinstall Fitbit

4. go to apps - my apps - weather and see what happens when you press the settings icon on the right side.

5. When it says "Current location", sync again with the Versa and look if the weather updates, when not:

6. Press add location and enter the exact data of your location manually in the Search bar. When Fitbit finds it, it will be added underneath your current location. Sync with your Versa and keep fingers crossed. Good luck.

The only thing that’s working for me is turning your versa off by holding the left middle button and the lower right side button. Hold until the Fitbit sign shows up and goes away. The shut down your phone, wait about 10 seconds then turn the versa and phone back on. That should fix the problem. Good luck!

i just had to do this process again this morning because my  notifications  Was not working.

Unfortunately, this has not helped in our case, nor have any of the suggestions posted previously.

Hold the middle button and the lower right side button on your versa until the Fitbit logo shows up and then goes away. Shut down your phone, wait about 10 seconds then hold the middle and lower right side button down on your versa to turn back on and then turn your phone back on. This should take care of it. Go to your weather app on your versa and see its showing now. Good luck!

@Nola45 Fitbit Versa is new and the weather app hasn't never worked. Strava has also never connected... very frustrating as love the watch but has only half the functionality it should have!

@SamuelY uninstall and reinstall Fitbit mobile. SYnc. Open fitbit app, tap on Versa icon, tap on Apps and check if there's an update to Weather just in case. Try setting your location now.

Alright, I just worked it out

Iphone only (I’m guessing)

•uninstall the Fitbit app on your phone

•reinstall the Fitbit app to you phone

•log back into the Fitbit app using your email and password

•wait for it all to sync back together

•go into the weather app settings

•enter your location

That should work, well it worked for me so I would hope it would work for everyone else

My weather app isn't working it says to sync my fitbit versa to the app which I have done.  I read to add my location manually but I'm not sure how to do that because when I type my location in and hit done the only option to change screens is cancel which removes the location I've typed in.

Did you try turning your versa off and your phone, and then turning them back on? That’s the only thing that has worked for me. To turn your versa off hold the middle button and the lower right side button until the Fitbit logo disappears.

Thank you!

@krisk11 does your Versa sync without issues? When was the last sync? It seems like you need to restore Bluetooth connectivity with your Versa. Reboot your phone and Versa (press and hold the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes). Let me know if this helped.
