Why would the battery go from 53% to 0% in 3 hours? It has never drained that fast before.

Hmm, this seem like motherboard problem. Maybe not the battery spoilt.

I have had 4 different fitbit, charge, Blaze, Ionic, and versa. Ionic and versa went black after program update and over 2 year old, 2 got battery capacity reduced and all after 2 year’s. FITBIT offered med 40% discount this time, before I got new one- but I am done. This program

Update Its similar to what Iphone did some time ago and by court they had to change the system. I am choosing Garming from now.

I use another clock-face that is simple during the day. It stays charged longer.

My battery went from 99% at 10pm to 0% at 9:30 am

Same issue and nothing changed, they offer you a discount to buy a new one. It's ridiculous.

Same here, I received a notification that the trial premium feature was extended for 90 days, as soon as I signed up for the premium trial I was billed $85.00 took days to get them to correct it! Now my Versa will not be hold a charge for 12 hrs battery declines about 5% per hour. FITBIT NEEDS TO FIX THIS!

My Versa apparently has finally given up the ghost. I had to leave town for a week and left it plugged into the charger port. When I came back it was up to 100% but after wearing it for a few hours it was down to 9%. The buttons are not functioning correctly and sometimes don't react at all. Time to file it in the circular storage container I think. Have let it go all the way down to 0% and will now try to recharge to 100% one more time before I give up on it (I'm a slow learner).

I'm having similar problem with my FitBit Versa.

It used to be a once a week charge.  Now seem to be charging it every 2-3 days.

I think the recent update which performs the O2 monitoring could be the cause.

Alternatively it's built in obsolescence (like Apple was sued in the USA for - slowing down the iphones just before a new model is launched in order to encourage you to buy a new phone.)  I wonder if there's a new watch coming out just before Christmas...? 😉

How did you get Fitbit to test it? My charge 3 is dying from full charge within a few hours. Less than 2 years old.

I used their fitbit support chat. Here is a copy of that chat.

It was a pleasure chatting with you today regarding your Fitbit Versa's battery draining fast, we are more than glad to work together with you to get you back on track as soon as possible.

As a reminder, the following are some factors that have an impact on battery life and may cause your battery to drain more quickly:

* Alarms (including setting a lot of alarms, using snooze, letting the alarms run the full cycle)
* Exercise mode and connected GPS
* Notifications (call, text, calendar, app)
* Reminders to move
* Quick View
* Frequently syncing (by opening the app)
* Clock face (watches only)
* Apps (watches only)
Battery use is affected by various factors and settings, for more information about how to improve battery life for your Fitbit, please refer to the following help article Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life? https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2004
If you still believe your battery is not lasting as long as expected, we’d like you to do a battery test to see how long your battery lasts after a full charge. Please do the following:

1. Disable the features that can impact battery life as described in Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life? https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2004
2. Fully charge your tracker.
3. Sync your tracker 5-6 times a day.
4. Wear your tracker until it is fully depleted.
When your battery is completely drained, meaning that your tracker is no longer responsive and you no longer see the low battery indicator, let us know the day you fully charged your tracker and the day it was fully depleted.

With this information, we’ll be able to better research how long your tracker's battery is lasting.

If the charging instructions and battery preservation tips don't help (meaning you're still seeing a rapid and unexplained battery drain) please let us know and we'll investigate further.

We look forward to your answer, remember that we are here for you.

Sincerely,
Estephania S and the Fitbit Team

Same here. The battery previously would hold for 3-4 days not great. This week it’s only holding for a day. This Versa has been nothing but problems. Notifications stop working regularly. Last Fitbit I’ll ever buy.

I just got off of an online chat with a Fitbit CSR.  Was given the same instructions you have listed.  Seems to be a standard answer without acknowledging there is a problem caused by their update.  I went to the instructions to reduce battery usage.  Funny thing is, I don't use most of those things that would drain your battery.  I have a simple clock face, I get minimal notifications, I rarely use the alarms, and I don't use apps from my versa2.

The CSR did a review of my battery and said they didn't see any abnormal battery usage; the battery life is consistent with my device's expected battery drain.  Not much help at all.  Lip service.  My husband was thinking of getting a new tracker for the oxygen feature.  This problem changed that real fast.  We won't be buying a new one, especially at the price they are now.

How do I find the answer for battery short life.  I hate this Versa watch.  Im now looking for a new tracking device.

Fitbit will not admit that they are manipulating the battery usage, unlike what Apple eventually did. My suggestion is to go Fitbit twitter support and post a complaint there. They respond much better there as it has much bigger exposure. That's what I did and eventually they gave me a replacement.

Mine just started doing this in the last few days. Today the charge lasted six hours. Seems to be that each full charge it lasts less and less time. This happened back in march due to a bad update and it took them about a month to fix it after flat out denying there was an issue the whole time.

Me too! 2 years no problem, now dead within a day every day!

My Versa went from holding charge reasonably well to needing to charge every 30hrs so suddenly I think it has to do with a software update. The transformation has been so abrupt it makes no other sense.

This kind of tactics caused our family to divorce ourselves from the Apple products. Instead of upgrading to their latest and greatest we upgraded out to Windows, wholesale every device except two, I kept my old outdated iPod and iPad 2 only for the ebooks, I could not transfer, as I repurchase in Kindle I will eventually dump the apple products. FitBit don't do this to yourself. Forcing upgrades creates loyalty dropouts, why be loyal to those who betray you? Step up to the plate and fix the problems, please.

My First Versa which was over 1 yr old, one day the heart rate just stopped.  It was right after a software update.  They admitted this after telling me it was not their fault and gave me a $50 coupon on a new one.  That Versa is just over 1 yr old, 3 weeks ago the battery lasted 5+ days.  Overnight the battery drained and will not last 24 hrs.  I will contact them again, but I have read all your issues and it seems they do not stand by their product.  If they do no replace it, I will be letting everyone know of the problems with Fitbit.
