When I go for a run, I use Runkeeper to track my runs and my Versa (upgraded to Versa 2 a few months ago) for on-watchface-stats. However, the Versa (2) consistently over-reports my distance, and as such makes it seem I have a faster pace than I really have. My Runkeeper app seems to indicate the correct distance based on races I've run where Runkeeper matches the race distance as advertised. This can be as much as 10% off, and that's a lot! If my watch says I'm running an 8:54 pace, that's quite different than the 9:40 pace I'm actually running.
During the whole run, my Versa stays "connected" to my phone, so it really should be getting the same GPS data as the Runkeeper app.
Any idea what causes this, and more importantly, how to rectify this?

Which is correct, Fitbit or Run keeper? And how do you know?

On my daily run, which is actually a certified 5k loop that runs by my house, Runkeeper is spot on and consistent, and Versa has different readings each time.
So I'm deducing it's Versa that is off.
Am I the only one with this problem? I could imagine that my stride length is somehow off but my watch claims it's connected the whole run so it shoudl be getting GPS info from the phone....

Did you end up finding a solution or hearing back from support about this? I'm finding the same thing; I just went on a run with Runkeeper as well as my new Versa 2 and Runkeeper measured 4.26 miles while the Versa 2 measured 4.66. This affected my pace by 10% (12:09 vs 10:53). If I try to retrace the exact path I ran on Google Maps it agrees well with the Runkeeper measurement, not the Versa one. It's weird because the maps on the two apps look the same, it's not like the Versa 2 thinks I ran somewhere I didn't - it just gets the distance wrong somehow, and it seems to do this continuously (the live pace readout on the Versa 2 is always faster than what I see on my phone on the Runkeeper app).

Nope, haven't heard back. It's really frustrating, because Fitbit is a fitness tracker first and a smart watch second. But my Versa's fitness tracker functionality is not working as expected!
I played by manually changing my stride length but that didn't fix it either. The GPS connectivity just doesn't work well.
And, on that "smart watch" front, I'm frustrated that I cannot see my phone's calendar on my watch. Yes, I can add individual calendars but my corporate policy doesn't allow for this fancy Exchange or Outlook plugin that it requires.
Strongly thinking about moving to an Apple Watch.
