Versa's screen became unresponsive

Seems like this is a common concern.  My Fitbit has gotten wet before.  I took it into the lake today, but nothing crazy.  I got the logo at one point, then nothing.  Put it on the charger for an hour.  It got hot, but black screen. I have tried to restart it using the buttons.  Nothing.  The app can't find the device.  Super bummed...I figured cooling off in the water for a bit would be ok.  I'm super disappointed that the Versa that I use day in and day out is down for the count. Please advise.

Luckily it was under warranty . My children purchased it for my 70th birthday and I really loved it. It was sent in for repair because nothin in the boat helped it died after the most recent update which seemed to be a problem for many users. I had been swimming came in the house it said the charge was down to 23% which is not possible I keep it charged . I placed it on the charger and when I removed it after charging it was hot the charger was hot and both were dead. I am awaiting repair.

I got in the ocean today to rinse off and had my waterproof up to 50 meter Versa Lite on and it is no longer working. I've had it in water before, as well as in the ocean, and this hasn't happened. Please help, still under 1 year warranty from purchasing on 11/28/2019 from Target.
