After following the recommended factory reset instructions for this firmware update, I can no longer get my Versa to show anything other that the above message, Any help would be welcomed

Hello! My Fitbit is STUCK on the “Data not cleared sync & try again” screen after trying to factory Reset. But now the Fitbit won’t re sync to my phone. How do I fix this problem. I’ve tried holding the right and left button at the same time A LOT of times and it keeps going back to the same screen of “Data not cleared sync & try again”. I’ve had it less then a year and I can’t get it to change to any other screen options.

Same happen to me 2 days updating my fitbit versa and nothing change, I delete the app and reinstall again but same message " data not cleared sync & try again. 2 months using I think this kind of watches no need to buy

I have the exact solution for this. This happened to me yesterday. The update took 15 hours and yet it was saying 'data not clear, sync and try again'. (I called fitbit and they gave me solution)
Solution-
1.unpair the watch from your app.
2.Connect your watch to laptop or computer.
3. Turn phone bluetooth off and then on again.make sure no other wireless devices are connected to phone and laptop. Dont touch the watch
4. Now go to ACCOUNTS in the app and 'setup a new device'. Put the four digit passcode and let your watch update.
5. Once its updated.turn your phone off and on again
6. Go to the app. Go to accounts.click set up new device again.(let the old versa device stay connected) now setup new device- it will say replace old device. Click yes.VOILA. remove your updated device from laptop charging socket.

Lol, believe I was thinking the same as you, I was 2 days fighting with my smartwatch frustrate because Fitbit Fitbit don't have customer support, if yu read my post you will see what I did, but let me explain shortly, in one pc I installed the Fitbit app for windows from Microsoft then connect my smartwatch trying to do the update all night but didn't make the update, so connect my Fitbit smartwatch in another computer like any other device and I wait to my pc recognize the device and make the updates for the device automatic, after that finished I open the Fitbit app on my phone an beging making the update , was really fast ( less than 3 minutes) and my Fitbit smartwatch come back and is working well, yo can try this if no work week you will return the watch at the store you bought, I hope this can help you.

Hello Lanuza,
I have Fitbit Versa lite . I don't know how I got this error. Day earlier I left my watch in the car and afterwards when I went back to get the watch it was giving me this error. I tried to setup a new device in the app but it is taking too much time stalling at 1%. But I can see in some intervals it is downloading some data. Can you please help me to solve this issue.

Hi, well the same was with my smartwatch versa lite and was taking 48 hours and no finishing the update and I try differents ways to fix unsuccessful including installing the versa app for windows.
The thing I did to fix this issue was connect my versa lite in a pc just like is going to charge, wait to the pc recognize my device and make the updates for my device when finished I turn off the bluetooth in my phone and ON again, then open the versa app on my phone, the app show me need update I did and was fast less than 4 minutes, my smartwatch versa screen was filling in blue color making the update when finished the screen was green color and the show me the update was successful, my versa lite come back working great.
I hope this can help you I'd you do it.

1.- Connect into a computer
2.- Let run the computer updates for your device.
3.- Open your app Fitbit in your phone and unpair your versa lite.
4.- Turn OFF your bluetooth and turn ON again.
5.- set like you are add new versa lite in your app versa.
6.- Make the updates , see your versa is mal
King the updates and wait until finished.
(Important do no disconnect your versa until the updates finished, the screen will be turning blue while is making the update ,when finish will be green screen, when show the update was successful disconnect from the computer)

Same issue here. Sync at 2330 last night and refuses to sync now - automatically and manually. Left my Versa2 in a coat pocket last night and didn't wear it in case that makes a difference

I have the same issue. I have tried every thing I've seen suggested but still nothing works. These watches cost to much to not be able to do anything with. I am very aggravated right now. Data not clear red x try again.

Well if you have 2 computers will be better
1.- in one computer install the app Fitbit versa for windows ( you can get it in Microsoft store )
2.- connect your versa in the computer and open the app you previously installed
3.- try to make the updates from the pc app
4.- if this doesn't work try add like a new device and make the updates will show the app on the pc.
I did this but was taking long time making the updates ( 24 hours ) and dont finished do it.
The way for me work was the one described before.
1.- in other computer ( no installed versa app for windows) connect your versa lite ,wait for the pc make the updates for the device ( will mo find all updates but is ok)
2.- in your turn off the bluetooth and turn on
3.- open versa lite app in your phone will find your versa lite.
4.- try make the updates until finish
5.- if doesn't work try add like new versa and make the updates.
That is what I did and my versa is working fine.

Hi I have versa lite but problem is same like all data not cleared sync and try again I did all the things tried to fix but not success.just I bought brand new versa lite 2 days ago it’s very irritating. Can anybody fix this issue? Plz tell me what I do now. Is it watch faulty or anything else?
