Versa says 'unlock on phone'

Passed on Versa to parents. When they tried to set up on app, Versa said 'unlock on phone' and phone asked for pin off the versa! 

 

Parents hadn't setup before so cannot follow other previous answers. 

Any ideas? Merry Christmas!
