@fj60 @Sketch47 welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Versa watches since their screens are flashing on and off making the battery drain and affecting the syncing feature.
By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.
I'd like you to try to change the clock face to one developed by Fitbit. Also, try the tips that are listed in this help article in order to improve the battery life of your watches and the troubleshooting steps shared in this help page for the syncing issues. You can skip the steps that you already tried.
Finally, monitor the behavior of your Versa watches and see if the issues get fixed.
Keep me posted on the outcome!

It looks like the problem has been resolved. No more flashing screen. I see that I needed an update....which was completed. I also installed a new watch face. Everything working fine now. Thank you for your suggestions and the step by step instructions. Sketch47

I have the same problem with the screen flashing. The flashing starts when i receive a notification. I have to let the battery completely drain down. The home screen will display once the battery is recharged. I tried a factory reset, but it didn't help.
