I purchase my wife a new Versa, to replace her lost Charge 2. It lasted about two weeks, until the screen fell off the body of the watch.
She was not doing anything energetic, just standing in a queue, when the screen separated.
Now about a month later, it has happened again. No strenuous activity just getting out of the car with handbags etc. Screen just fell off the body of the watch.
The first incident we just put down to bad luck and we were able to get it replaced by the Retail Seller (who said they had never heard the like before). But to have it again within a month with nothing that my wiffe was doing to explain why the Versa would fall apart. It wasn’t bumped, hit or otherwise rough handling.
This quality issue is a major concern and she is worried about wearing it least it should happen again and she doesn’t notice until way to late.
Apart from the unexplained trend for the Versa to fall apart on her, my wife was very happy with it, its features, battery life and all.
Would anyone else have experienced something like this

I was sitting on the couch last night and looked down saw a small mirror on the floor , couldn’t figure out where it came from . Then I looked at my Versa and the face is gone. I’m upset . This was too expensive for it to pop off for no reason. Have you contacted Fitbit.

After having my wife’s Versa replaced immediately by the retailer under Australian law (the item must be fit for purpose or full replacement of refund is required) I was not at all interested in FitBit’s offer to replace it themselves AFTER i posted the damaged goods back to them which would take weeks.
Especially when they could not assure that the fault had been found and corrected plus they stated that they would not replace it if it happened again after the 12 months from the initial purchase elapsed.
Personally I would not recommend the Versa to anyone, but would recommend another FitBit product such as the Charge 2

I purchased my Fitbit Versa in April of 2018. Then, in late July, I was at work, got up from my desk and decided to check what time it was....then it happened, the screen of my Versa just “popped off” from the rest of the body. The previous week, I had an issue with the Versa not displaying the HR (now I suspect that that problem was actually a precursor to the screen separating.
I contacted Fitbit customer service and they were very helpful but they did say that since my Fitbit was “out of warranty” by 3-months, the best they could do was offer me a 25% discount on the purchase of a “new” Versa. Since the screen separating is a known issue as illustrated by the number of posts on this topic,I am not sure if I will purchase another Versa.
As I paid for my versa on my credit card and all purchases made using it “double” the manufacturer warranty, I was able to make a claim and I got the original purchase price plus tax refunded to me. I will hang on to this refund until I decide what I’m going to purchase....stick with Fitbit, or maybe try the ‘new” Apple Watch coming out a n few weeks? Hmmm, time will tell

My screen just popped. I contacted Fitbit and they are doing nothing since this happened a little bit over a year since I bought it. This is a clear manufacturing issue. Time to leave this company, any recommendation? Garmin?

I'm back to using my old Fitbit Flex 2 (the one I was using when I first got my Versa). I'm honestly not sure what I'm going to do. I know that there are new Apple Watch models being released in September, so I'm thinking I'll wait until I see what the changes are from the Apple Watch 4 series. I know that they are much more expensive than the Versa, but I honestly can't see myself buying another Versa (even the upcoming Versa 2) based on my experience with the screen coming apart....obviously a known issue and a design flaw, which Fitbit has yet to acknowledge. I know my Versa was a few months out of warranty, but they could have replaced it as a "good will" gesture and I would probably have stayed a Fitibit customer....not so much now for sure!

Sorry that you have joined the “club” of disappointed Versa users. I am still using my Charge 2 and my wife is using the charge 3 and both are going well, mine for over 3 years now.
Fit have acknowledged the issue, but have made no comment on whether it has been fixed in the newer version, so I don’t blame anyone for not having faith and buying one.

For me FitBit is still generally reliable, My son had the original Charge and FitBit replace it a number of times over the years when the integrated band broke. The recently upgraded him to the Charge 3.
I have been using the Charge 2 for a number of years without any issues at all and my wife is happy with the Charge 3 as a replacement for her Versa.
Having said all that, my other son is happy with the latest generation of the Apple watch, although its power drain when using it in wireless mode is very bad, requiring overnight charging, which means its sleep monitoring wont work.
Good luck with your choices.

The face of my versa literally just fell off yesterday. I'm now waiting in my 4th replacement. I bought it for Christmas last December and the face has fallen off literally every 2 months.

Personally, I would move to a different FitBit product, because based upon the collective experience of the group in this topic, your replacement Versa will fail again.
So if it happens again, negotiate for a different product.

Well I have had my Charge 2 for years without an issue and my wife has been happy with her decision to move from the Versa to the Charge 3.
If you wanted to opt for a different Fitbit product you might be able to negotiate with them on that.
For me under Australian consumer law the seller has to warrant the product for 12 months and if it fails either replace it or provide a refund

In my case, I went on their live chat after the fourth time the screen came off.
While they agreed to replace it with a new Versa AFTER they received the damaged one back, decided to take the Versa back to the retailer for the following reasons:
So at the end of the day it was faster, easier and the end result was a product with no defects (Charge 3).
Fitbit aren’t doing their reliability reputation any favours with the Versa product.

My screen popped off yesterday, just standing in my bathroom getting ready for work. I called fitbit on my way to work, could barely understand the representative but in the end it's 2 months past the warranty so all they did was offer me 25% off their products...
Now I completely understand why my first one died instantly after I went swimming with it once! I had only had the watch a couple months at that time. With this second watch, I never got it near water because I figured it's not really waterproof like they claim. Now here we are 14 months in and the screen popped for no reason! So annoyed and not sure what I'll buy now. I currently have it rigged with tape...
I've used fitbits for many years now, guessing it's time to move on.
