Versa screen stuck on message "To start download the Fitbit app"

I bought my versa 5 days ago and it was working fine until the battery run out completely and I charged it. Now it’s stuck on the start up screen which keeps flashing. I waited for the battery to drain but when I charged it nothing had changed. This is disappointing because I’ve not even had this watch for a month.
