Versa sensors stopped working, battery and screen issues

I updated the software on my Versa and since then the light sensors on the back stopped working. No heart beat or step counting. Then battery started to act up. After charging the watch the battery would not last. Now my watch will not turn on at all. I am very upset. This watch is a little over a year old. How can this happen? I loved my Fitbit but I will not buy another expensive one so it last for only a year. This is absurd!
