At first I thought maybe I didn't fully charged the Versa but when I fully charged it Saturday night around 7 PM and now Monday 10 AM battery is dead. Not even 48 hours... "a health & fitness smartwatch that lasts 4+ days" What a joke! I understand "*Battery life varies with use and other factors" but this is ridiculous. I had my Fitbit Blaze for 2 years and battery life lasted 4-5 days and that's with me using the exercise feature for an hour each day and all of my app notifications. Are the first batch of Versas defective?

Best Answer

A review at AndroidCentral noted that the author was getting only about 48 hours of battery life, and when they contacted Fitbit they were sent a replacement device that lasted 4-5 days on a single charge. It may be that you've received a similarly-defective unit, and a replacement would solve the issue.

Something isn't right. Surprise surprise as I write this it's back on charge, just under 48 hours. I'm not a runner so don't link to the GPS. I go to the gym for about 90 minutes a day and listen to Deezer whilst there. Don't have that many notifications, don't have the screen wake up when I tilt my wrist out any of that. Don't have all day sync on either and it's consistently the same with the battery. My Charge HR was fine this isn't much better then an Apple watch!

Have you tried to restart your Versa or do a factory reset

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a great day, it's nice to see you around @msrose84@MDLynch and @SunsetRunner. Smiley Happy

@msrose84, thanks for bringing this to my attention and letting me know the steps you've tried in hopes to resolve this issue. Have you restarted the Versa already? If so, I would like to suggest you the following to maximize the battery on your watch additional to the ones mentioned by @CarlosCFitbit:

  • Remove any alarms you're not currently using. Each alarm you add up to the maximum of 8 reduces battery life by a small percentage.
  • If you’re syncing with an Android device, the Always Connected option may reduce battery life.
  • Charging your tracker in extreme heat or cold may reduce battery life.
  • Lower the screen brightness and backlight delay in the Versa settings.
  • If you haven't done it yet, please restart your Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I haven't drained it but since I have a special edition who's band gets wet I don't wear it while having a shower.
Keeping it for charging while having a 15 min shower makes me feel as if the watch lasts forever.
But yes I've seen mine last till 4 days at least.

I am having the same problem. Received on Sunday. Fully charged in wall socket. Running no apps. Normal syncing & charge is not even lasting 24 hours.

I have emailed customer service - I could not find a telephone number.

At least by reading this forum I can see I am not alone with this issue.

I've done all this. I never had to do this with the Blaze. What's the point of purchasing this smartwatch if I have to do the following?! So pretty much turn everything off? Useless.

I will call Fitbit. Thank you.

Received mine today and left it on charger while getting it set up. Went from full charge to dead in 3 hours, just wearing it around the house not even playing with anything. Charging now and will follow all instructions above before contacting support. I had changed to a third party watch face, so I definitely delete that. I’ll be sad if I got a dud.

I just got my fitbit today I only charged it once to 99% and I synced it A BUNCH of times, powered it off the put on screen protector a couple times, charged for about 30 minutes for half battery to get to 99%. I'll check back in 4 days!!

Hi everyone,

I am happy to report that Fitbit is sending me a new Versa!  When you contact support, they will send you the set of instructions listed earlier in this forum, basically, turning off all connections and apps and only manually syncing a few times a day.  And then they will want to know what day / time your Versa was at 100% and then what day / time it was 100% depleted.  Once they have that, they will confirm your device is defective and start the replacement process.  If Fitbit didn't have the quality and service I have experienced in the past, I'm not sure I would be this patient, but I believe they want to know about and fix the issue.  If anyone else has the battery issue, contact support asap and get your replacement process started!

Thank you for the update.

I am still waiting for the support team to get back to me.
I have noticed that my heart monitor is not working either.
I am disappointed with the Versa which I was waiting for with anticipation & can not comment on the customer service as I have had none so far.
I will update everyone once I receive a response.

Can I just ask - does the screen on your Fitbit dim as it runs out of charge?

I received my Fitbit yesterday and the screen keeps dimming.

TIA

Hi @MarcoGFitbit it's good to see that our complains and issues don't go unheard. Could you also please look into another thread where multiple people have had issues with inaccurate floors being logged. I've just replied there so you should see it on top. Thanks.

@MarcoGFitbit will do!

I know I won't be able to remember in four days from now so I'll just say what I'm seeing right now...

Day 1 of wearing Versa!

Right now, it's at 82%, I'm gonna do an experiment, I'm doing 4 days (or until it dies) with 'All Day Sync', notifications, quick view, auto brightness, and reminders to move on and fours days with it off. I played with it a lot today and I let my friends use it even more than I did. I checked it every hour and messed with settings a bit. Since the screen is very sensitive-I just had my hand down by my side and brought it up to type this sentence (and no, I don't type with my wrist flat facing down) and it turned on-it turns on a lot and I use a very active clock face. It shows, hr, seconds (time, duh), steps, weather, date, and the battery life, so I'm impressed! It doesn't drain as fast as my charge hr! Played with the auto brightness a bunch. Based on what I normally do, I'm seeing maybe a battery life of 4-5 days?! Love it!

When I went out, everyone was like 'I like your apple watch!' 'when'd you get an apple watch?' 'it looks like an apple watch!' yeah, but it's a lot slimmer!❤️

I got my Versa yesterday and charged it up to 99%. It wouldn't go to 100% (I don't know why). Anyway, I synced it a lot, played around with it, tested my notifications, etc. I left the Bluetooth on and off throughout the day while out and about and at home I still fooled around with it and did multiple syncs. I'm on day two at 81% as of now. I too, will just let it go and see how far my battery life will take me.

@Jayelo Yeah, even too. It's really fast to get to 99, but then it takes forever to get to 100%. I don't know, I'm at 79%🙁 Now and I haven't even played with it yet. Whatever, it should still last 4 days (knock on wood) well I guess I forgot to mention because I forgot about it but I have 5 silent reminders so that too. For exactly 4 days, it shouldn't go under 75% today. I'll check again before I go to bed.
