I’ve had the Versa since July 2018 and evaluated it against the Garmin watch before ultimately going with Fitbit because the Versa seemed like the best fit for my goals: exercise and calorie logging. Unfortunately, I’m very disappointed with the Versa: the calorie count is completely wrong. I’ve seen all the posts in the community forum from Fitbit saying it’s tracking BMR and thats rolled into the total count. Who is tracking BMR?? No one. It’s deceiving to include this in total calorie burn- either get rid of it or break it out between BMR and then actually calories burned through movement & exercise.
I’m currently on crutches with a foot injury and walked around ~4700 steps today and my Fitbit is saying I burned 1,460?? This is so frustrating: I don’t trust anything this watch says other than the time...I wish I could return it and get my money back.

That calorie count seems reasonably accurate it it was me, but it depends on your weight, age, sex etc. Have you tried googling calorie calculators to see if it is in the right ball park for you (include bmr calories of course). BMR calories are very important if you are either trying to lose weight or gain weight, so they need to be included somehow.

Yes, I'm compared it other fitness trackers and it's about double the accurate calories...even with BMR.
I would like BMR broken out so I have an accurate portrayal of how many calories I'm outputting from exercise compared to BMR.

@SunsetRunner Can you take a screenshot of your dashboard (calories out) at the end of the day, so we can see? The calorie number you mentioned seems correct. Of course, I do not know your BMR, but this can be estimated. You can even use this tool. Please keep in mind that Fitbit "distributes" your BMR calories over the course of 24 hours.
