My Versa syncs fine, but since I updated to Android Pie it doesn't show me the phone number or caller id info from my phone. Instead, it shows the app I use (Should I Answer?) for unknown callers or simply Phone for numbers I have in my phone book. I no longer see the names of callers. What do I need to do to change this so I can see who's calling again???

Mine was doing the same thing after the latest update. Just go into the Fitbit app, tap on the versa icon and scroll down to notifications. My app had a red notification there in the notifications screen that said it needed more permissions to access the calls. Once I allowed access, calls are no longer showing as "phone" and now show who the caller is again.

That app had an update on 1/19. I suspect the app is the problem and not the Android OS update. Try turning off notifications for that app and let the dialer tell you who is calling.

I didn't have a problem either until my android phone update. It's so annoying! Fitbit, do you have any response?

Mine is now doing the same thing. I do not know if the versa updated, but I can tell you that my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 had an update right before this started

My Versa is also doing the same, only showing "Phone" when i get a call. Mine also started acting up about the same time I got the Android Pie update. I love the fitness portion of my Versa, but is anyone else frustrated with the sync/notification issues? I just want it to work!

Oh my goodness thank you! I just got a Versa for my anniversary present and I was thinking that it wasn't as good as my old Samsung Gear because it wouldn't even tell me who was calling but I clicked where you said and sure enough there was that red warning and all of the permissions needed. Thank you!

I'm glad it helped you, gamerchic! It was driving me crazy for a couple of
days before I figured it out. I absolutely love my Versa!

Thank you! Was having the same problem, now realised it was due to the update, working perfectly now. Thanks

I did it right away (allowed permissions), but it's not exactly working for me. Once in a while it will show ID, but on the regular basis it just says Phone. It's been several weeks, it drives me crazy. Some notification became silent. I keep checking the settings, and everything is checked, already restarted my versa to factory settings, and reinstalled the app. Now I can see why so many people are not happy with Fitbit.

My Versa has recently been doing the same thing, stating "incoming call" without identifying callers in my contact list. I'm so glad to find your solution. It worked, problem solved! Thank you!

thanks, but if you check my question, I already did this right away when my Android was updated. It still doesn't work, I still have 'phone' displayed instead of ID. Some of my notification became silent. And, I also restarted, reinstalled, rechecked everything... I'm glad that it woks for somebody, but I'm pretty annoyed because it doesn't for me.

I am having this same issue. I wish Fitbit would weigh in on this because it appears it is still broken for most people.

Mine is doing the same thing I followed all the steps and still not working. That's one of the reason I got the Versa. To be able to see who is calling me during work.

Ok, this is what worked for me, not a solution, but a fix for now. I have done it a few times and it has worked.
1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone. Wait about 10-15 seconds and turn it back on.
2. Go into the fitbit app and wait for the app to sync with your watch. Once the indicator up by the Versa Watch icon turns green, it should work.
I have to do this about every 2-3 weeks, but has worked every time. Hope it works for you guys. Fitbit needs to find a permanent solution to this!

Make sure your power saving mode is on "Optimized" or "High Performance". Just figured out I had my phone on "Medium" setting. Switched to "Optimized" problem solved!!! Hope this helps!
