Versa shows a "Data not cleared" message

My versa light stopped syncing so I deleted the app from my phone and then reinstalled it. When this didn't work I removed the watch from my account and then try to add it back. After the initial set up It told me to update the tracker software which I have tried to do. however then it seemed to stall I couldn't get the watch off the initial - Download the app to start screen. Following advice on this forum I tried to do a reset however now I have a different error - Data not cleared sync & try again!

Hi @katecou, welcome to our Fitbit Community! Regarding the "Data not cleared" message that your Vera Lite has been displaying, I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

 

I was able to get in touch with our Support team and was told that they assisted you via chat. Please In case the issue persists, please contact them with the reference number they provided and they'll be happy to follow up and assist you accordingly.

I have held the button to switch off, fitbit logo appears then disappeared.  Message reset failed and data not cleared. This is really annoying, lost steps and been trying to sort this all afternoon 😑 not a happy bunny.
