I'm sorry, I'm new the fitbit world lol. Ive had my Versa for 1.5 years, and I do not have a problem with it. My husband has the Versa Lite and hes having issues. It asked him to update and it did nothing. So he factory reset it and now it just flashed "download the app" in many different languages. His is also a 1.5 years old.

I experienced exactly the same problems. ı contacted tech support and they somehow tried to help me. Finally they sent me an email and informed me I need to replace my Versa. This all happened after my software update and they dont take any responsibility. I am sick and tired of writing.

Hi Juan, I had the same problem with my fitbit versa. I attempted to remove the device in the app and add it again but it still displays the download the fitbit app message. I tried restarting the versa several times but it is not working. Kindly advise. Regards, Linda

Dear Butterflygrl, I had the same problems and have been intouch with tech support for the last 2 months. Nothing worked and they refused to replace my versa because it is out of warranty period which is 30 days. I will very much appreciate if you can tell me how to proceed for a replacement watch? Thanks in advance.

Hi NIAAA,

I found a solution to this issue as I was also facing the same problem.

If it is showing you that "Download or updates Fitbit app with a date" in your Fitbit device.

Likely you tried to remove your device and readd it.

In this case, if you are an apple device user - Go to your settings on your phone and go to bluetooth - unpair and forget Charge 4 device from your known Bluetooth list and then reboot your phone

Try again to pair and add your FITBIT to your phone

It's working. I'm happy...

Spread your love if it is working

This exact thing happened with my versa lite that is not even two years old yet. so I went and bought the Versa 2 and now I can't get it to connect with saying needs app but I already have the app. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and all of that and it still can't connect

I have the same issue as well!

To Fitbit:

I am very very dissatified and disappointed with how your Fitbit resolution end up to be. It is indeed evident that your company had programmed the system to be obsolete after 1 year of use so that people will be coaxed to buy a new Fitbit from you with the presumed discounts and with the 1 year warranty being expired by that time. This seemed to be some trick by your company to ensure a continuous stream of income in which is shamefully unethical!!

As I have mentioned before, my Fitbit went into such state pursuant to a system update that was triggered by your Fitbit apps. This is indeed strong evidence to show that your company has programmed the system update to invalidate the operating system, so that users are unable to use the so-called smart watch. This is a marketing scam and I would very much like to report this!!

As for your discount plan, I think it is nonsensical! This is equivalent of going into the trap that you have set for users like us at the initial phase of making the operating system to be obsolete after a triggered system update. As such, I will not fall prey to such propaganda and will bring this up for further public information as this is indeed a scam !!

Hey so might be worth double checking your model type. Had a similar issue and discovered it was because we had identified the model wrong and had our phone looking for the wrong fitbit model = / hope this helps

Hello,

i keep getting a message on my Fitbit telling me to download the app and it also says it in different languages. Another part is that it makes noise and it doesn’t respond to anything I do on the screen. I have tried resetting the Fitbit but it does not respond, I have force-quit all of my apps and forgotten my versa 3 on bluetooth and the Fitbit app. how can I fix it? Do I have to get a new one ?

Thanks
