Versa shut down and will not turn back on

Woke up last night and my Versa is dead.  Only way I can get it to turn back on is by putting it on the charger.  It will start back up but when I take it off the charger, it turns off again.  The battery is not dead.  Showed it was full when I took if off the charger.

Welcome on board @lorisnick, it's nice to see a new member around!

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing the issue with your Fitbit Versa not turning on when not connected to the charging cable. If you haven't done so, I'd like you to restart your device as described in this help article. This will refresh your device internally.

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around!

I can't get it to start up so I can't get it to restart.  However, I did restart it last Saturday after I took if off the charger.  It worked but then shutoff again a couple minutes later.  Haven't been able to turn it back on since then.

Put it on the charger again tonight which turned it back on. Did the restart, it stayed on for about an hour and then shut off again. Its definitely not the battery as it shows full when I put it on the charger.

I am having the very same problem with my Versa.  The past few days it has not been holding a charge very well and none of my data was syncing.  I put it on charge all night and it would not come on today.  Still nothing. Just got this thing in March.  Suggestions about pushing the buttons and holding HAVE NOT WORKED!!

Hi @lorisnick, thank you for your reply. Welcome to the forums @nkahootz. I am sorry for the delayed response.

@lorisnick I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts and thank you for sharing the additional details. Upon checking with our Support team, I was told that you have already contacted them and that they were able to help you. Thank you for your time and efforts.

@nkahootz thank you for joining the conversation and sharing the details of the issue with your Versa. I appreciate your efforts to resolve it. Since the steps you tried didn't work, I would like you to do a factory reset. Please note that you'll need to reinstall any apps on your device after the reset, and if you couldn’t sync your device, then any data on the Fitbit device will be lost. In order to do the factory reset, please do the following:

  1. On the watch, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. Once the Fitbit.com/setup screen appears, open the Bluetooth settings on your phone and unpair the watch from the list. Then, please set up the watch back to your account with the instructions on this link: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

Keep me posted on the outcome!
