Versa step count climbing as I sit here

I just passed my 5000 step goal for the day (rare disease, 10,000 is impossible), and noticed the count is just climbing and climbing as I sit here.  Now up to 5,890. Really, Fitbit? Didn't you just fix a Versa issue like this a week or 2 ago? Now 5,974 - I haven't moved.

Have you tried shutting the Versa off, then turn on

I hadn't tried that, I'm doing it now. But frankly I'm disgusted that I have to do anything. I've only had it 18 months and this is the 3rd issue I've had with it in the past month. It should JUST WORK. 

 

It seemed like it had stopped adding steps before I shut it off, and now that it's back on it's counting steps fairly accurately. Wondering if it happened to others but they haven't noticed because their step goals aren't as low as mine.
