Saturday my Versa read over 35K steps and 1.21 mile walked. Didn't wear it Sunday. Monday it read 238 steps first thing in the morning without it being worn. Obviously there is something very wrong with this $200 little piece of equipment. Can someone provide insight?

Fitbit will replace it or if you purchased the warranty at original
location. It's a piece of junk!

I have experienced the same. My fitbit is not tracking the steps rather it is counting steps while riding/ driving. Is anyone having the same issue ? any solution from fitbit ?

My last tracker was replaced. The Fitbit solution was to download an app
that would ultimately subtract the steps, that which was not acceptable to
me.

Fitbit's solution was to download an app that would count the driving steps and then go into Fitbit app and manually subtract those steps. That wasn't acceptable to me so the tracker was replaced.

I tried basic model of the fit bit a couple of years ago and made the mistake of wearing it to bed. I say mistake because every night it said I never slept from 10-2 at all, never tracked one second of sleep during those 4 hours. When I reached out to customer service for Fit Bit I was told that it was because I was moving to much when I was sleeping and that I should try to move less??? Apparently I'm supposed to be fully coherent when I'm sleeping in order to stop myself from moving, how absurd was this feedback? So I returned it to the store and that was the end of it. For Black Friday this year I decided to get the Versa because I wanted to give it another try and have one with music from my phone. Well first of all it says you can download your own music and when you select that it tells you to install it on your computer so I went to my tablet and downloaded the app there and it gave me the same thing, can not find how to possibly put my own music on my watch instead of using your service.
As for steps, they are GROSSLY inaccurate. While sitting in my chair this morning I've done 20 steps, in the morning going approximately 25 steps from the shower to my bedroom it logged over 100 steps in minutes. Seems like lots of people are having the same issue on here.

I think the Versa has been the worst of all!
Fitbit replaced 3 trackers due to inaccurate step counts. Last week I
didn't wear it twice, both days had over 7,000 steps.
Fitbit has done absolutely nothing about these issues and apparently don't
have any intentions either. They pay close to nothing to have them made and
sell them for $200. The profit out ways the issues.

You are absolutely correct! I bought my Versa on black Friday, received it on Monday, synced it on Tuesday, compared it to a waist worn pedometer that I had tested for accuracy by counting my steps while wearing it and had measured and set my stride length to 21 inches, set the Versa's stride length to 21 inches, and wore both daily until yesterday, when I returned the Versa. Each day, the Versa recorded hundreds of steps that I did not take. One day, when I must have used my hands a lot while teaching my two college courses, the Versa over counted my steps by about 4,000 steps. I bought the Versa primarily to count my steps and to measure the distance walked. It failed miserably to satisfy the reasons it was purchased.

Even i face the same issue in my fitbit versa 2. It counts hand movements as steps and there is a lot of variation in the actual step count Vs the fitbit count.

I'm definitely disappointed in the step tracker on my new versa 2. I've moved it to the opposite of the hand I use for my PC mouse as steps get added from just using the mouse. Thousands of steps added that don't make sense.

Mine is the same, I got it for Christmas. Just spent the whole day on a plane and it's says 17000 steps. My husband spent a lot of money on it so it's really disappointing!

I have had my Versa 2 for a week now and I have found out that it was very accurate when it comes to actual steps, however, it is very easily fooled into counting loads of steps by other actions.
Here are some examples. Yesterday it counted about 30+ steps only while I was changing my clothes standing up in one spot. It also counts steps when I wash my hands or wash the dishes. It also sometimes counts steps even when I am typing on the keyboard at work.
I had a similar incorrect counting with my Charge 3 before, but nowhere near what I have noticed on the Versa 2.
I hope Fitbit push an update soon to make it more reliable during movements other than actual steps.
For actual steps, I have found it to be correct to within 5 steps over a 100 actual steps, but I have left the walking stride setting to its default and have not bothered measuring and setting my actual stride length manually.

I got the versa yesterday for my birthday and my step counter is completely out. Even when I was traveling in a car the counter was going up. Does anyone have a way of fixing this issue?

Hi, my fitbit versa 2 is doing the same. I got notification that I needed 25 steps to reach my hourly guide. I didn't move & next thing I know I've hit my goal. How is this possible? That means when I hit my 10,000 steps that I haven't really walked that many steps. I paid over $200 for it. Any ideas on how to fix this problem
