Hello, I just got a Google Pixel 6. I went through the set up on the app, but now my watch is not getting notifications. Any suggestions?

Hello @Tamm69

Open your Fitbit App then tap your profile picture then scroll down and tap Versa. Now scroll down and tap notifications. Make sure all your notifications are enabled here. While your on the same page tap App notifications and ensure all the apps you want notifications from are enabled here as well. If your still experiencing issues go to the Bluetooth on your mobile device and find Versa on the list of conned devices. Tap the blue information icon (looks like a circle with a small i in it) and ensure you have Share System Notifications enabled.
make sure you didn’t accidentally turn on your do not disturb or sleep mode as your notifications will not come in if that is turned on. If the problem persist please recheck your settings:

  • Ensure the Fitbit app runs in the background by going to Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app and turning off Background restrictions or Background limits.
  • Check that the Fitbit app is installed on your phone’s internal storage and not on an external SD card or other storage. The Fitbit app does not consistently work when installed on an SD card.
  • Turn off battery optimization and limitations.
    1. Go to Apps > Fitbit app > Advanced > Battery > Battery optimization.
    2. Change the view to All apps.
    3. Search for the Fitbit app and choose Don’t optimize (or not optimized.) Also check: Settings > Apps & notifications > Notifications > Notifications on lock screen and set to Show conversations.

On a side note…you said you got a new phone. Make sure your still not connected to your old phone as it can cause conflict and confusion.
😃I hope this gets your notifications up and running and provided you an answer. Please come back and let me know how it goes

Hi there, @Tamm69. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa.

As a first approach and as @SunsetRunner mentioned, please make sure that your Versa is no longer connected to your old mobile device as this might be preventing your Fitbit device to receive notifications from the new phone.

With that being said, please follow the steps below in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Versa from your old phone's Bluetooth and also from the new phone.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your new phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Versa again.
  • Set up notifications on your Versa again.

Tried all of that, even set the watch back to factory default. Also uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Still no notifications.

Hello again @Tamm69

I’m not sure why you decided to factory reset your Fitbit Versa but after you did so did you set it up again as a new device going through the Fitbit App? If not here’s how: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=51y-XvItJsE

Its showing for a Versa 2 but the steps are the same except you of course would choose Versa.

😃 That’s fantastic @Tamm69 it’s working now because after restarting and re-examine of the settings fixed the issue. You had to have your Fitbit App open and get a notification on your phone which in turn now has the notification showing in the App Notifications enabled in the Fitbit App. I’m super happy your back up and running. Please consider marking the solution that helped you as “best answer”. Doing so really helps others find solutions quickly to the same issues similar to your own. I hope you have an awesome day and as always Happy Stepping!
