Versa stopped tracking my heart rate and sleep data

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa has no flickering lights.
The heart rate shows as “- -”

It has stopped tracking my sleep as well.
Steps I have tried:
1. Reboot (thrice, more than thrice)

2. Factory reset

Got the Versa in 2019 & I use an iPhone X, if this information is of any use.

Please help!

Hi there @Zaman.niha, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa before reaching out.

Have you checked if the heart rate settings hasn't been turned off? This would explain why the two "--" and the sleep data not being tracked. To check this, on your watch, open the Settings app Heart Rate > tap to turn the setting On.

For more troubleshooting steps, see What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?

Let me know how it goes.

Hi there.  I have the same issue.  The heart rate is on. It's not tracking my sleep data.  It's been about a week now.  I tried the steps Zaman did as well.  I tried moving the band on my wrist.  Nothing seems to be working.

Thank you

Hi there @Burk1, welcome on board. Thanks for trying @Zaman.niha's steps as well.

If you are not receiving sleep stages, please consider the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

To learn more about your sleep data, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device? and What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Keep me posted.

I have the same issue with my Versa 2. Green light has gone off the back. It last rated my sleep on 03 Jan, last tracked my sleep on 11 Jan, and last tracked my heart rate on 11 Jan. 8t has also stopped vibrating to remind my of my hourly step count.

I have restarted by holding down the button, turned off the watch in the about section, turned the HR on and off, synced the device with the app, and uninstalled and re-installed the app, all multiple times and in different combinations. All to no avail. I have also down loaded the latest updates. The back of the Versa 2 is clean.

I have not restored to factory settings yet as I didn't want to lose my data and don't know how to back it up.

What else can I do?

Hi

I have tried all these things in the last week.  Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Thank you for your response!

I have checked the heart rate settings and it says “On”. I also tried toggling between on & off while restarting the watch multiple times.

Interesting that so many people are having this problem.  I have had my versa just over a year.  The green flickering sensor lights stopped working about a week ago.  I did factory resets and multiple attempts of finding fixes through settings.  Contacted help support through chat today.  My $300 fitbit versa 2 is no longer under warranty. They will not replace it, but they did offer me a discount of 10% off my next purchase as they want to keep me in the "fitbit family". What a joke.  This is my 3rd fitbit.  I will not be buying another.  I did nothing wrong to cause this.  It is clearly a defect.  Fitbit should be replacing my Versa 2.

Hi I'm currently having the same issue. After the update last week my fitbit stopped tracking my heart rate and sleep. Have done several resets to no avail.

I completely agree! I have had mine about the same amount of time and have
had multiple problems. It is a common occurrence for me to have to reset,
disconnect, uninstall and reinstall, etc. This is my 3rd Fitbit as well
but I didn’t mind upgrading to the Versa 2 because the screen and features
were a big upgrade. I shouldn’t have to buy a new one every year. Fitbit
should cover their software problems indefinitely. It’s not like I damaged
it and am asking for a new one.

Its so annoying. So many people are having the same problem.

Best Answer

That is why I do not understand why they fo not replace them.  If so many people having same problem it is a problem with the versa 2 not with how it is being used.  And they have no answer to fix just an offer of a discount to keep you in the "fitbit family".  Jokes.

Same thing here. Tried on/off and resetting. Laser is on, setting is on, no heart rate or sleep being recorded no matter what I do.

I'm having the same issues and have tried all of the same. My laser sensor is on, the setting is on, but no heart rate or sleep will record. My sleep literally stopped 2 hours into sleep last night, lol.

Same here, no luck. Just updated yesterday, had been working fine lol!

After talking to customer service 3 times, I just now received another
update. I sure hope this one takes care of the issues.

I am having the exact same issue, no green light and not recording sleep or my heart rate. I have followed all the steps and still nothing, it's been 2 weeks of me trying everything. I have no idea what to do now!
