Fitbit versa stopped tracking steps when my phone died. Is this normal? I thought it would continue to count and just sync later after the phone has been charged.

Hi, no in principle this is not normal. Even when you never sync your Versa with your phone, I shoild be tracking your steps. Try this: restart your Versa several times (4-6) in a row by pressing and holding the left and right lower buttons together untill you see the Fitbit logo and release the buttons. This procedure solves most of the problems.

@Melanie4kps It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! As my friend @SunsetRunner mentioned, your Versa should keep tracking your steps even though your phone runs out of battery.

I would like to follow up and would like to know if the issue persists or if your Versa is tracking and syncing your data properly after following the restart process that shared @SunsetRunner.

If you found his post helpful, please accept it as a solution so other users that experience the same issue can find it easier.

Looking forward to your response! 😀
