Hi there @NA7, thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa has stopped working after swimming with it. Thanks for letting me know that you've already tried to restart it, I'll be glad to continue assisting you with this.

While reading your post I was wondering if your Versa vibrates when you connect it to the charger? Do you still see the green lights flashing on the back? If you haven't done so yet, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

Not sure if it's an "old wifes tale", but if it was me I'd stick it in a container of uncooked rice overnight and see if it draws the moisture out.    I've not read this as a fix for fitbit...just saying a thing I'd try.   Good luck.  I wear my versa1 when swimming as well, so I hope it doesn't do the same one day.

Hi there @NA7, thanks for getting back and for the update. I've seen you got in touch with our Support Team after your last post and they helped you to get back on track. 😉 Please do not hesitate to let us know if there's anything else we may do for you in the near future. We're always around and glad to help you.

Hello @stubee, thanks for stopping by and for that great piece of advice. Since the Versa is a wrist-based device the dry rice may help temporarily when there's moisture inside the screen, but the problem is likely to happen again. In most cases, water-damaged devices aren't covered under warranty, but it depends on the device type.

All Fitbit trackers and smartwatches are water-resistant, which means they're rainproof and splash-proof and can stand up to even the sweatiest workout. You can swim or shower with certain Fitbit devices. Fitbit Versa series are swimproof in a lake, pool, or ocean up to 50 meters.
