Versa stopped working after swimming

I came to Maui and went swimming in the ocean four times at about 15 minutes each. My Versa went into swimming mode and would not come out so I had to reboot it. Next the top right button died completely and after washing and using a toothpick, rebooting, shutting down, charging it is still dead. Next the watch with a full charge has gone completely dead and will not turn on. I put it in the charger and the blue mark came on but then it went dead again. No combination of buttons will start my Versa.

Swimming. Killed. My. Versa.

P.S. This is a Versa bought when Versa was still new so of course there is no warranty now after loving it for over four years. Maybe Apple Watch has to be next as I cannot trust the FitBit with swimming. So many comments show up when I searched for “dead after swimming”.

Hi @CamSwitzer Ohh that is sad to hear. I have swum regularly with every fitbit I have owned (except the Alta HR which is not water resistant) and have never had a problem with any of them, so although problems do occur, they are not universal. Sorry to lose you.

Thank you Nelly.

I too was surprised as I have really enjoyed the Versa these past four to five years. But you know, once you get a smartwatch it is pretty much impossible to wear any other watch again (data addict?) so this is a great opportunity to try something new.
