My Versa stopped tracking my heart rate a week ago and as a result stopped tracking my sleep. Now this morning, after charging through the night on the charger the Versa wouldn't turn on. The app says it is fully charged and now the screen on the watch displays a red X and the message Data not cleared, sync again.

Hi there, @Terr97. Welcome to the Community Forums.
Please note that the error message you're now receiving on your watch's screen ("Data not cleared, Sync & Try and again") usually appears when you've performed a factory reset without first unpairing the watch. With that being said, please try the steps below:
If you can't get started with your Versa, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?
Hope that helps.

Yes you are correct I did try a factory reset after not being able to get my device to work and finding the reset instructions on your website. So now I've followed all of YOUR instructions to the "letter". After over an hour of waiting for the Versa to do a new setup and installing the new download, I actually got excited thinking this was the fix I needed. Got to the end of the download and the new install and low and behold here's the message on my watch screen: "Reset Failed. Your data was not cleared. Please try again". !! It might as well say, "too bad for you. Please buy a new watch". After two Fitbit devices dying suddenly with no apparent fix, it's time to move on to another product. Sorry Fitbit but for the price of your devices I would think they should last more than a couple years and that your support would be ....well , more supportive. You apparently have known issues that need your attention.

Well, after spending several hours trying to resolve my issues with this Versa, I finally have it partially working. I have uninstalled and re-installed the Fitbit app several times, turned bluetooth off and on several times and even disabled all the other bluetooth devices connected to my phone that work seamlessly ((only to have to go through the tiring process of re-pairing those devices). Turned my phone off and on several times and finally after many attempts, the update took and my device is now tracking steps and telling time. The heart rate monitor still doesn't work, so it isn't going to track my sleep. The agenda app doesn't work either. I'm not sure it's even tracking my steps accurately but if the alarm goes off in the morning to get me up in time for work I'll consider it a small victory!

I had a similar issue and for me it was a case of going into the phone and making sure they were paired and then going through the setup process again. Glad to hear you got it sort of working, however something else I have read here somewhere is that it is damaging to the fitbit itself to leave it on the charger too long after it has fully charged. so once it reaches 100% take it off as it isnt like other lithium ion battery items, longer charge isnt better charge.

Thank you for your responses. My re-setup worked for about 24 hours and then the whole unit died again. I don't know if it's fully charged or not. There is no screen display and none of the buttons do anything.
