Versa stops communicating with my Samsung S8

My fitbit versa continuously looses its connection with my Galaxy S8, I am constantly shutting off Bluetooth and doing a restart on my versa - multiple times a day. I had been using a charge 2 and never had this issue. What can I do to stop this. I will out of nowhere stop getting text/phone notifications and or it will not sync.  I need to keep doing a restart routine multiple times every day. This is getting ridiculous! What needs to be done?

I have finally resolved my problem. I am not sure why but I went back to a fitbit clock face not a 3rd party created one I have not had a problem. My daughter and I both got our versa on the same day and have the same galaxy s8 phone. She has never had any syncing problems and I had them constantly throughout the day. The only difference was she was using one of the fitbit clock faces and not a 3rd party one. I decided to try going back to one of them.  Since I have reset my clock face I have not had to reset my watch or turn off/on bluetooth. I don't know if this will work for others but I am finally relieved to have a fully functional fitbit versa!  I have not created 3rd party applications for fitbit so I can't say for sure; but somehow it was interfering with the communication between my phone and the versa. My suggestion for anyone experiencing the syncing problem to try using only fitbit clock face and see if it helps. Its worth a try!

Hi, I really hate to do this suggestion, but cause restarting your Versa and all the other actions you did, do not work, I would advice you to do a Factory Reset. In this article you will not only find how to do that, but also how to setup your Versa again on the Fitbit app of your phone. A FR reset does exactly what it says, it brings back your Versa to the settings made in the factory, so it behaves like it has never been bought, let alone setup by a buyer. It's just a new Versa. If even that does not work, contact Customer Support with your problem. Good luck!!

My versa is new and has done this from the beginning. My daughter and I got ours at the same time. She has no problems with hers only mine.

@Mam8 For now, let's try avoiding factory reset. Please try this:

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Reboot your phone. Do not pair in your phone's bluetooth settings
  3. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes
  4. Open Fitbit mobile app and sync.

The trick here is to not pair in phone Bluetooth settings but rather let the Fitbit mobile app do that.

Additional tips if sync issues persist: If you have Wifi set up, go to Fitbit mobile app and remove it, then sync your Versa. I noticed that it causes issues for me. If you have other Bluetooth devices paired with your phone, forget them. One of them might be causing issues. Also, make sure Always Connected and All day sync are enabled.

If the issues still persist, try downgrading Fitbit mobile app to version 2.84. if that does not work, try version 2.74.2.

It appears the culprit was the clock face. I was using one of the 3rd party ones. Once I switched back to a Fitbit clock face my problems went away. Not sure why the clock face messed with communication/syncing but as long as my problem is solved that is all that matters. Thanks for your advice!
