Versa suddenly not recording heart rate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I came back from holiday last week and since then my Fitbit versa hasn’t been recording my heart rate and, in turn, calorie burn. I wore it while swimming on holiday (never that far underwater) and it carried on reading my heart rate perfectly until I was back home, so not convinced it’s something to do with the water. The green light isn’t flashing on the underneath of the watch. It also hasnt recorded my sleep since Saturday.

Any suggestions? Or do I just accept that it has officially died?

Hello @Mjonesington

First make sure your heart rate wasn’t accidentally turned off. On your Versa swipe over to settings, scroll down to heart rate, and look to make sure it’s on. If it is indeed on then turn it off, sync your Versa then turn it back on and sync again. It the heart rate was off initially then turn it back on and again sync your tracker.

If the problem persist try restarting your Versa by holding down the button on your Versa until you see the Fitbit Logo then release the button. You should feel the Fitbit vibrate telling you the restart is finished. Check if your heart rate is working now.

😃 Hopefully that fixes the problem. Please let me know how it goes

Hi @SunsetRunner

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

I tried both of those things but unfortunately it’s still not working. The green flashing light was temporarily working this afternoon but it’s not coming on anymore. Not sure whether there’s a loose connection somewhere? And, if so, don’t know whether there’s anywhere I could get it fixed…

Hello again @Mjonesington

🤔 You mentioned swimming and going on a holiday recently. I’m wondering if sun lotion (or lotion in general) might have left a bit of residue on the back of your Versa 2 causes poor contact with your skin and having trouble reading a heart rate. Look here on how to clean properly: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2005.htm

No promises….just a thought
