Versa suddenly stopped tracking walks

I’ve had my Versa for a few months and as of today it’s stopped tracking my walks. I did two walks today (to work and back) totalling 53 mins. The steps have counted but the walks haven’t logged and it says I’ve done no exercise today which is frustrating as I’m doing RED January.
I know I can enter manually but I don’t know the exact start and finish times and tbh that’s the Versa’s job to do!

I have restarted but nothing has changed. Is this a problem with the watch or the app?

And to update...

Just entered my walks manually and I’ve lost over 2000 steps and my activity has cut to zero. Please help or it’s going back to the shop!

@daisydoodah Is it just today this happened?  It could just be a temporary glitch.  I'd try a few more days and see if it happens again.

Also, I personally find it better to track the activity from the watch instead of letting it auto-track.

I experience the same problem. I always walk during my lunchbreak and it just didn’t record it today. I also missed a walk from last Saturday evening from at least 25 minutes 😞 It’s really annoying..

I bought it for this feature and I expect it to work as the watch is not cheap. It has done it before and I’m really starting to lose faith in the whole brand. My 2x Blazes barely lasted 18 months each and I had to return a Charge 3 after 3 months. This one is heading the same way.

Mine is doing the same thing. I've walked over 22,000 steps today and my daily exercise doesn't show up. Very frustrating!!!!!!!!

Hi @daisydoodah , as @Heather-S already mentioned, might be a temporaty thing. This is back upped by the following message I get when, on my laptop, I press settings in the dashboard:

"Oops! Something's not right...

We're experiencing an internal server problem." regards kuzibri

@daisydoodah I'm sorry to hear that.  I've owned multiple Fitbits and never had to return any of mine.  My Flex 2 still works also.

Unfortunately, tech does have glitches or errors and nothing works perfectly 100% of the time.  I hope this is just a one-day glitch for you.

I certainly hope your internal glitch is fixed soon. I want to see the correct info on my app.

I saw someone on Facebook also reporting this error.  I'm thinking this is just a glitch for a portion of customers.

Must be a glitch, cause a lot of users complain about today suddenly exercise tracking stopped, cannot be a coincidence. regards kuzibri

@SunsetRunner @Heather-S thanks.

Just checked out Facebook so let’s hope it’s a glitch. It majorly played up about 6 weeks ago (stopped recording HR) and then an update appeared the next day which corrected it. Wondering if the same thing might happen again!

I've had the same problem too today. My Versa 2, which I've only had since Saturday recorded a run last night, when I actually did a walk and it's not recorded 2 walks today plus a 45 minute aerobic workout. Extremely frustrated. I had an Alta HR which was fine and was bought a Garmin for Christmas. I didn't like the fact it didn't automatically track exercise so after much debate, my husband agreed to change it for the Versa and now it's stopped working. I've restarted the tracker, turned off GPS, turned bluetooth on and off, the app says Auto recognition is ON, set at 10mins and still nothing. I've manually added the workout and like you, have lost calories and active minutes from my dashboard. Where can I go to get tech help with this?

Hi @Jelwillow , I think this problem, due to the fact that a lot of users have the same problem (stopping tracking exercises form today, besided the one in the middle of the night), this is due to an internal server problem, which is back upped with the message I get when I press the settings in the dashboard of my Windows 10 PC: "

Oops! Something's not right...

We're experiencing an internal server problem. I do not believe in coincidences, regards kuzibri

Hi @Heather-S , thanks for this advice. From now on I will deactivate automatically recognizing and start exercises on my watch as you adviced. Did that when I walked my dog and recognized my exercise immediately after syncing. Many thanks, regards kuzibri

I'm having the same problem since yesterday. It is counting everything, but not showing the exercise.
Everyday something else, I'm getting really fed up with Fitbit. I love the watch, the app and the community, but it has to work properly!
