Versa switched off and only comes on when on the charger!

Hi

This evening my Versa switched itself when I knew I had about half battery life left. Got home and placed on the charger. It flashed up saying it was on 0% then the Fitbit logo. Goes blank vibrates, comes up with a screen that says 99% battery with a green line and no WiFi with a red line. It then loads up my normal screen. When I touch it asks me to put my pin in. When I scroll through the readings, the battery reads at 99%! 

 

As soon as I take it off, watch stops working! If I leave it on the charger after a couple of minutes it's starts this process again! 

 

Very frustrating! I have changed the strap on it today as the original is already snapping after having the watch for just under a year. Don't think this would any connection but thought I should mention.

 

Please can someone help me with this problem?
