Versa sync issue and power?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Has anyone noticed a relationship between sync failures and battery level / power?

My versa syncs ok for a day or so, but seems totso truggl when battery falls below about 50%.

Charge it or just put it on the charger and its happy again!

I have seen lots of posts about sync failing after a period of time. Could this be a power issue?

Then its back to the usual suggestions of cyling bluetooth off and on, then restart watch and  then restart phone /app, in my experience.

Just wanted to know if others had identified battery charge as a factor

I also switched OFF

All day sync

Keep alive and

Always connected

Only syncs when I open the phone app, but seems  to sync more reliably and phone battery lasts longer!

I don`t know if there is a `back door` to these watches, but soon after posting the above, I noted that battery drain had increased. maybe just co-incidence, but seems to be a significant issue.

Last night, I gave up and wiped EVERYTHING, including the phone app and resetting the watch to factory status, then re-installing and updating. Took 3 hours after pushing through numerous hangups in the process (eg found versa, but failed to connect)

Since 10:00 am (5 hours), battery has lost 15% (IE Predicted battery life of 33 hours and NOWHERE NEAR 4 days!)

So now I am checking and testing:

Watch

- charging to 100%. Restart watch.

- Screen awake = ON

- Notifications = ON (for now, as what is the point of smart watch, otherwise)

- No alarms.

-Display awake = 10 SECS

Heart rate = ON

Phone App

- setting All day Sync = OFF

- setting Always connected = OFF

- setting Keep Alive Widget = OFF

Will re-post with progress.....

... no sync since last night (approc 5 hrs after initial post.). So trying to sync:

1. manual sync from app x 5 failed. No message.

2. restart app and manual sync attempts. Failed.. `Tracker not found`

3. force stop and restart app and manual sync attempts. Failed.. `Tracker not found`

4. restart bluetooth and restart app and manual sync attempts. Failed.. `Tracker not found`

5. shut down and restart Versa via menu and manual sync attempts. Failed.. `Bluetooth Issues`

6. shut down and restart Versa via pincer grip and manual sync attempts. Failed.

7. Use `Restart Bluetooth` option. Automatic sync failed (no messages) and manual sync attempts. Failed..No messages.

At this point, I am looking at re-installing the app. and / or re-pairing with the Versa.

- It REALLY should`t be this difficult!

- Battery consumption appalling (now at 44% after about 18hrs)

Hugely unimpressed.

Any other suggestions, please.

So.

No suggestions and the battery at 12% after 24 hours.

Poor.

Very poor.

Just got off the phone from Customer support.

Apparently the above is not a proper test as I did not turn off

- Notifications (pretty vital function for a smart watch)

- Screen Awake (one of the features that first attracted me to the product)

- Heart rate monitor  (the other feature that attracted me to the product)

So here we go again.......

Result::

Well it stopped being able to sync after around 48hrs (after still declaring battery at 75% an hour or two earlier), then died shortly thereafter.
