I woke up this morning to find over 20000 steps already in my Fitbit Versa.
Apparently they all occurred between 315 and 330 am, while I was fast asleep.
What can cause this?

Hi @Caity_aus, welcome to the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post, seems odd that your Versa tracked so many steps in a short period, even more if you were asleep. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this situation and how many times since then? Only steps are being affected or other stats as well? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to restart your Versa to refresh its performance. Please let me know if the issue persists.
Looking forward to your reply.

This has happened to me last night during 1.30-1.45am while I was in a deep sleep! How do I reset my day? I don't want to lose all my data

This happened to me too last this morning. 2 week old Versa 2, logged 30,000 steps around 6 am, while my phone was still and the fitbit was on a desk. But miles wise it only marked one tenth of a mile so far. There is no activity in the log for me to delete. I have updated, restarted and shut down, nothing resets those steps. I am in a challenge for work week and have all these ghost steps that have me ranked higher than I should be. This is frustrating
