Versa tracked heart rate while not being worn

My Versa is doing something strange. I wear the device constantly - the only time I take it off is for the short periods in the mornings when I’m taking a shower. Previously the App hasn’t shown a heart rate during those periods. However recently the heart rate is shown as a constant 111 bpm during the periods I’m not wearing it. As soon as I put it back on the heart rate goes back to normal.  Not a major issue but I wondered if anyone else has noticed this and might have a clue why it’s happening. Heart rate on Versa showing as 111 bpm even though I’m not wearing it.Heart rate on Versa showing as 111 bpm even though I’m not wearing it.

@SunsetRunner I'm sorry for the late response. However, it's great to see you in our Fitbit forums.

Regarding the heart rate readings that your Versa is tracking while you're not wearing it, this is not a normal behavior. By the way, thank you for providing a screenshot of the graph that shows your Fitbit app.

In order to correct this issue, please restart your Versa as described in this help article. This will refresh your watch internally. After this, try turning on the heart rate feature and turn it back on and monitor it during the next 24 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.

As a side note, make sure that your Versa is not left on a surface with vibrations such as a computer desk or AC system since those vibrations may have the watch to track stats.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

Hi,

I've reset my Versa as described, and turned the Heart Rate monitoring on
and off. I'll check next time I take it off what happens to the HR reading.

Incidentally while the Versa is off I leave it lying on a soft surface so
no possibility of it picking up false readings.

@SunsetRunner thank you for getting back. By the way, I'm sorry for the late response.

I appreciate the time spent trying the workaround shared above. I would like to follow up and would like to know if your Versa stopped tracking heart rate when not in use.

Looking forward to your response! Smiley Happy
