Versa tracks high heart rate readings

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My versa bpm seems rather high when doing any activity. I'm comparing it to a garmin vivoactive 3. I love the versa but didnt believe the bpm. Doing weights with both devices on my versa is reading 136 and the garmin is rarely above 100. Mostly in the 70's. That makes more sense to me since I'm not doing any aerobic activity. Your thoughts?

@grenada2013 it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it's tracking high heart rate readings.

Please try restarting your Versa as described in this help article. After this, make sure of the following details:

  1. Your device is positioned correctly on your wrist:
    • Tighten the band so that it doesn’t slip on your wrist. For more information, see How do I track my heart rate with my Fitbit device?
    • Heart-rate tracking may not work with certain accessory bands, especially if they’re loose fitting. For best results, use the wristband that came with your device.
  2. If you’re doing an exercise such as high-intensity interval training, boxing, or other activities that cause your arm to move vigorously, try to relax your wrist and stay still for up to 10 seconds until your heart rate appears.

Note that heart-rate tracking is disabled during swimming.

Keep me posted on the outcome! 😀

Hello and thanks for your reply. I had already taken the steps you
suggested in your reply. This versa is worn properly has the correct band,
been shut down rebooted and even factory reset. 😁 To no avail. But I did a
little testing on my own and here is what I found. First I'll say I'm no
body builder. I use light weight and short routines just to maintain what
little muscle I have left as I age. So I started my weight routine as usual
by selecting the weights option in the exercise fields. With my first set
my heart rate was over 100. After my second set I was at 158. So I stopped
the weights on my watch. Looking at the watch face again my heart rate was
now blank. After a couple of minutes it resumed. It was now 88 and I had
been doing more sets during that time. During the rest of my workout my
heart rate stayed between 75 and 100 which is what I would expect for an
anaerobic activity. My conclusion is that at the very least the weights
option in the exercise field is way out to lunch.

I had this same issue. Then my Fitbit started acting even more crazy. I had active minutes as high as 500 and I wasn’t doing anything at all.  BPM was 175 and I was resting. I got a replacement device about 2 months ago after having the Versa for less than 3 months. Now it’s doing it again. I tried all the steps Fitbit suggested. I guess I will be getting another replacement soon. It’s sad because I just got this versa in March and had to get a replacement this early on. If you find anymore helpful tips/suggestions please let me know. Thx.
