Versa tracks high heart rate readings

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am extremely upset with my Versa. Heartbeat completely inaccurate (too high) which gives me way too many calories burned. Can't accurately judge calories in/out. Worked great for 3 months, now this! Have cleaned it, reset it, cleared both app and Versa and reinstalled app and initiated Versa again from scratch. Still screwed up. Showing 104 beats right now while I'm sitting here watching tv. Best present I ever got has turned into a huge disappointment!

@GilMil, I moved this post to the Versa Help Forum since it is specific to this device. It will get more response here.

@GilMil it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community. By the way, I'm sorry for the late response. I'm also sorry to hear that your Versa has been tracking high heart rate issues even though you have troubleshooted this issue properly before contacting our forums. I totally understand how frustrating this is for you.

I'd like you to try one more workaround that has been helpful for this type of issues which consists in performing a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Please sync your watch before this in order to avoid losing current data.

Finally, make sure of the following details:

  1. Your device is positioned correctly on your wrist:
    • Tighten the band so that it doesn’t slip on your wrist.
    • Heart-rate tracking may not work with certain accessory bands, especially if they’re loose fitting. For best results, use the wristband that came with your device.
  2. If you’re doing an exercise such as high-intensity interval training, boxing, or other activities that cause your arm to move vigorously, try to relax your wrist and stay still for up to 10 seconds until your heart rate appears and see if the accuracy is better.

Thank you for helping us to keep the Community organized @USAF-Larry.

I'll be around if any question arises.

I will try this AGAIN tonight but I have already done this and it did not work. Update: Starting yesterday the heart monitor doesn't register at all. It just shows (---). Also the battery, which used to last 3-4 days now barely makes it 24 hours before it goes dead!

Mine is showing a HR of 176 while sitting quietly.  Very frustrating! I have restarted it at least 10 times. It works for a little while and then jumps back up.  This started about 4 days ago.

@Bassbird thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit Community. By the way, I'm sorry for the late response.

Since your Versa is still tracking high rate readings after your restarted it, I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Please sync your watch before this in order to avoid losing current data. After this, make sure of the following details:

  • Your device is positioned correctly on your wrist:
  • Tighten the band so that it doesn’t slip on your wrist. For more information, see How do I track my heart rate with my Fitbit device?
  • Heart-rate tracking may not work with certain accessory bands, especially if they’re loose fitting. For best results, use the wristband that came with your device.

After this, monitor your heart rate during the next 24 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome! 😀

Thank you for your reply.  I've tried restarting multiple times, I also reset to factory default, all with not much luck. Now it has registered my sleep for a week because of the erratic HR readings.  It will get "stuck" at a rate and stay for hours until I reset it.   Now the HR monitor will not stay on consistently. I'm getting pretty frustrated as the data is almost completely inaccurate for the day.

Same here.  Now no HR and the battery drains in hours.
